Anyway, the chance for success seems to be lower than expected but it is there, so try if you want and hopefully you'll get the timing down. When I first did it I was using a rocket launcher with cluster bombs and the cluster bombs killed the boss. When I tried to duplicate it the countdown started and got to 1, then my screen blacked out and relit with the "mission complete" screen. So try if you want! You may succeed, you might not. But I'm hoping you do and I'm rooting for ya, good luck! ------------original post below---------------------- Ok so this is the deal. The game has strike gear and you don't. Maybe you do, I do, but you probably don't have much if you're reading this. Or you're hiding in the bathroom at work and decided to read the forums. Anyway I had a revelation last night and I think it works. When I say I think I mean 99% sure, we tried last night but we couldnt get the strike we wanted (dust palace) so here's the deal. 1: join a fireteam so its 3 people in a group and you aren't abandoning some randoms. Hell send the random a party invite if you must to see if they want to help out otherwise STAY AND FINISH THE STRIKE. 2: pick heroic and quit til you get the strike you want AS A WHOLE FIRETEAM, LEAVE NO GUARDIAN BEHIND. Edit - some guys are suggesting you play the strike playlists normally til you get the strike you want then implementing the strategy so as to have the buff and improve your chances. I second this idea. 3: do the strike but when you get to the boss and he's on his last sliver of health suicide rocket that mofo. He should still drop engrams and the mission won't end. 4: respawn at the preboss checkpoint and repeat til he drops what you want. EDIT - just to clarify it doesn't HAVE to be heroic, 36 also drops strike exclusive gear it just seems to have a lower chance so I recommend heroic but 36 is still up for grabs. We wanted to do dust palace to get all 3 cloaks, I got the void one already but it seemed like a good idea. We tried it on the dark blade mission instead even though we are all hunters and he dropped a few blues that were still there when we respawned. Sooooo for those that didn't know you can apply the suicide grind to strike bosses and not worry about stacking the buff. I'm sure the buff helps but sometimes it's nice to already be on the strike that drops the gear you want and its just another tactic to try instead of running several in a row hoping to get the strike you want. Seriously though dust palace seems to avoid me like the plague. *don't try this solo. I can't stop you but don't be a dick. *if you're in a strike and someone sends you a party invite accept it so at least you can talk and have some idea as to what the other people or persons thoughts are. This is supposed to be a moderatley social game, don't neglect your fellow guardians the least you can do is listen. *if the person you invite doesn't accept your invite or says he doesn't want to partake don't abandon them! Have the decency to finish the strike!aybe they'll change their mind! Maybe they won't! Either way quitting because someone doesn't want to do what you want just adds to the negativity in this corner of the internet so lets try to avoid that mkay?
