Bungie.
Most auto rifles take 5 or 6+ shots to kill even with precision. It takes twice as long to win a gunfight using an auto rifle that isn't the Suros Regime. I recommend reevaluating the damage and damage drop off of auto rifles. They should do the most damage at close to medium range.
-
Tell that to my summoner.
-
I played crucible with a pretty crappy auto rifle that I just happened to have shortly after the update and I was doing fairly well. Git gud scrub.
-
They're good but they're not pulse rifles. No idea why you'd play with an auto over a pulse if you were going for competitiveness. I mean juju is an absolute beast rn
-
I disagree think there pretty good now. Try supercell.
-
Do you even strafe bro?....
-
2 RepliesReally dude? Just stream headshots and people melt like butter. Also i totally disagree with the short to medium range thing. If you want that destiny needs a sub machine gun class. ARs need to be medium to medium long range.
-
Thats exactly what they do
-
1 ReplyJade rabbit ftw bt fr my hard light sucks I hate auto rifles they seem 2 noobish lol
-
3 RepliesI used monte carlo before 2.0 and rekt, even got flawless trials with it. Your entitled to an opinion but I call BS.
-
Auto rifles are good, they are meant to take 6-7 heads hots to kill, it's not a 3 shot hand cannon, or 4 shot scout, they have less impact for a reason
-
7 RepliesThe best thing Bungie could do is to equalize the time to kill across the board, then tune the weapons under that rule for unique "feel"
-
I dunno, the Dealbreaker with the upgrade that makes it shoot slower but harder when aiming is pretty good. It becomes kinda like a faster scout rifle that can also go full auto from the hip. Against beast players it can assist, which honestly is very helpful in Rift.
-
2 Repliesive been successful with auto's since the patch but a solid red death, messenger, bad juju, or mida user will reck you
-
If triple wreck read this he would just laugh and say NLB for life

6 RepliesEdited by Soybean: 9/23/2015 8:33:41 AMTL:DR: auto rifles are fine, pulse rifles are strong, crucible is almost perfect right now. Currently auto rifles's time to kill on critical damage is about 1.00-1.07 second, shooting 9-12 bullets to kill depending on the archetype(high impact, low impact) of the weapon. One exception being crowd control and reactive reload, which might buff it to 0.8-0.9 sec time to kill. I disagree that auto rifles need to be buffed to the extent of getting 6 critical damage shots to kill. That would be ridiculous as the time to kill would be so fast that no one is able to react to it properly. Auto rifles shouldn't be used the same way as pulse rifles or hand cannons, and vice versa. It is effective in the right players hands. I believe, it is always the players that determine the skill rather than just a weapon. The current meta is almost perfect, bungie really did a great job rebalancing weapons. Edit: loves auto rifles, have a 'up for anything' with reactive reload and crown control :)

Autos are fine. I'm wrecking with them atm.
-
They still need jist a little more with damage and range. Then i feel theyll be fine
-
Maybe that's why I'm having such a difficult time in crucible lately. Switch to an auto rifle. Maybe it's time to go back to a pulse.
-
Have you played with the Monte Carlo? That shit's a beast! :D
-
Only complaint I have (kind of) is the pulse rifles, but even that isn't too bad if you're fast enough.
-
I agree they're not 'competitive' but they're viable.
-
The Zhalo Supercell is great for Crucible. Went 2.63 last match using it.
-
Been on and off with AR. medium ROF pulse rifles seem to be the go to "crucible" weapon type. Shotguns and hand canons feel no different to before imo I'm still being 1 shot from a longer distance then I think reasonable by a shotgun
-
I was getting dicked by Red Death over my Suros.
-
They're bad if you can't aim, then again; anything will be bad. Auto's are fine. They can compete.
-
Have no idea what your on about. Autos are pretty solid these days
