How are people getting legendary armor?
I've put a few hours into TTK but been quite busy. I'm hovering around 257 light I believe right now. I have Y2 legendary/exotic weapons in all slots so far (with differing DMG), but am running all blue armor except for my helm (exotic drop).
I'm seeing a lot of people running Y2 legendary armor and wondering where they were obtained so I can plan my proper path? Were they drops? Faction/vanguard purchases? Combo of both? Just want to make sure I'm doing the right things over the next while to provide me with the proper upgrades so I can start running the nightfall/raid/other higher light missions.

1 ReplyI've found court of oryx (if you have runes) and strikes to be best way to level gear.

Keep ranking vendors up. (Vanguard, cryptarch, factions) and do quest lines with armor upgrades, or just hang out in the court of oryx.

I spent almost 800 motes upgrading my new monarchy and all my vanguard accommodations I used to rank up my new monarchy, the packages drop legendary stuff

Thanks again everyone. So tonight I hopped on with a friend. We ran through a few strikes, did the daily heroic mission, then went to the dreadnaught and spent a good hour on the court of oryx. This was my first time at the court and was especially fun because we ended up in an instance with 4 other players so the six of us tackled event after event for an hour. In the end I got an amazing amount of loot from all of the combined events and quests. One of my biggest victories which I didn't realize until I got it was a new blue ghost shell from the court. I didn't notice my current shell was only 170, and my new shell is 282 so that jumped my light up significantly. Between that and some other armor along with an amazing new sniper and fusion rifle i rose from 257 light when I turned my console on , to finish the night at 276. Can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store!!

Don't worry about purples till your in the 290s I am all blue and 297 i think most purple I have gotten even raid stuff is lower then my blues when you find purple with perks and stats you like use blue to infuse. Hunting for it now would be a waste.

You'll get legendaries from packages, and an exotic class item quest (That doesn't take up an exotic slot!) at level 25. Other than that, my other main way of getting legendaries was grinding strikes. Random question for anyone that can answer: Can boss-specific rewards, such as the psion cloaks, drop in 36 vanguard playlists? Or is it just heroic only? I could've swore I got my sword brothers arms from 36, buuuuut my memory is a bit hazy.

Faction package level-ups, playing the daily Heroic strike and Crucible match (They both give you 30 Legendary marks) and buying armour!

Just keep playing the game and grinding strikes/PvP You will get some.

The one I got earlier ended being outclassed fast by a blue engram. Did my first Heroic strike last night and ended up with 2 legendary, engrams. A weapon and boots. Also got a pretty good Titan mark blue engram from the strike. So far the strike takes the cake in reward.

4 RepliesMake sure you have the highest light level possible out of all your armor and weapons before you decrypt your stuff, and do one at a time, and if it's higher than your equipped armor, equip new armpit or weapon piece and continue until you are done with all your engrams

Run vanguard heroics. I got my arms and legs from strikes, and my helm and chest from packages. Legendary helmet in my wearing right now but it's 283 light. All I do is imagine. Grind strikes and infuse everything. I don't care if it takes a lot of parts, my Titan looks badass and I don't wanna change it

1 ReplyStrikes man strikes. I got the ps exclusive titan armor that I just infuse with blue items that are better. Just hope rng is on your side.

3 RepliesLegendaries have little to do with increasing your light level as you can find blues that have 290+ light, which is better than then 280 light sold by vendors. It your at a stand still do strike playlists and court of oryx (assuming you have runes). If you need to buy the 280 stuff if you for some reason can't find anything but generally farming strikes you will eventually increase because you will get blues that increase light. In TTK you can be light level 290+ with all blues if you want so don't think that you NEED legendaries like before.
