The Hunt for Red Death
Help a guardian out folks and any others that may be searching for the same thing. This list does not include Xur since I don't think that's an option anymore.
So I see a lot of votes for the exotic (yellow) engram, this is good news, because I wasn't even certain it was possible.

Having said that it doesn't look like Xur is doing much in the way of selling ANY exotic guns this year (only Hawkmoon so far) so I wouldn't hold my breath! The person below who says "legacy engrams" from Xur to get the year 1 so it opens the year 2 blueprint probably has the right idea but, then again, Xur has seem pretty focussed on selling legacy HEAVY not primary engrams (heavy three times, primary once so far). So if you see Xur selling primary legacy engrams snap up as many as it would take to finish your collection of year 1 primaries as you can! EDIT: Looking at your grimoire it looks like the only year 1 primary you are missing is Red Death - is that right? If so you only actually need to buy one legacy primary engram from Xur and you are sorted.

Saw this drop for a friend of mine today on Poe I'm in desperate need of it, so it's confirmed it can drop from a exotic engram using 3 of coin?? Meaning I can stop running Poe and run some strikes instead??

Both that and Icebreaker dropped for me as crucible loot. Too bad that's hardly a possibility anymore.

Buy the legacy engram from xur, than once you collect year one version you can just buy new version from blueprint

Got Red Death twice from 28 PoE when I first did it on my Hunter & Warlock. I kinda raged.

Buy primary weapon engrams, then in you get lucky but the year 2 from kiosk

Vault and Crota are your best options 2 possible chances in each run You can do oryx also 2 chances But those are slim I think

Had to wait for xur to sell legacy primary engrams. Got it after 2, went straight to blue prints for a year 2. The search was finally over.

I have seen a great deal of red deaths from from killing Crota. Do that plus a 3oC on all three of your characters.
