Etheric Light- what a joke
I have 20+ etheric light that I grinded for during HoW. The biggest disappointment I have encountered with TTK thus far is BUNGiE's decision to remove Etheric Light's purpose in the game. Why would they place so much importance on Etheric Light just to toss them to the wayside during the next DLC? BUNGiE really needs to create some sort of avenue for allowing us to use our hard earned Etheric Light in TTK.
What do you guys think? Should we be able to use Etheric Light, or just delete them because BUNGiE decided to not use them in the game anymore?

People are indicating that exotic shards are stacking up. I agree. I probably have at least 40. It will be nice if we could use our exotic shards or the etheric light to infuse our gear. Even if it just brought items to 280 light, it would help.

We are trending. Lets keep this going so it gets addressed as soon as possible. It will be awesome to see BUNGiE taking our suggestions/opinions into action.

I think they should b used to increase lvl cap of all gear n weapons,(the higher the damage or defence value the more it would cost to upgrade), and to allow for personally customized gear(each piece of gear has a certain number of upgrades available,weapon sights explosive rounds etc for weapons and increase reload speed, carry more ammo etc for armour). u could use motes,marks and shards to have ur weapons upgrade slots wiped clean and buy the upgrades that u want (exotic weapons excluded) . I spent more than 50 motes remodelling my NA3D1 scout rifle until it had full auto explosive rounds and firefly, and now its less than useless . This would make motes, sha5rds and marks evenmore valuable and well worth the grind.

They should be able to be infused into a legendary or exotic to raise its defense or attack stat to be honest only makes sense.

I say 4-5 motes of light per etheric light. That would make doing PoE worth the grind for those who want more motes.

Yea legendary marks are kinda pointless since you can grind for blues that are higher than the gear you can buy in the tower. How about a etheric light just adds 2 light to ttk gear and it has a cap at 300 or some shit idk if a cap is possible without breaking something else but just an idea

Compared to everyone on this post I suck because I tried my ass off to earn just one etheric light and my exotic shard collection never exceeded 5 at any one point. But those facts just make me agree with you more. If by some miracle I had earned an etheric light, just to have it made irrelevant, I would have been crushed and probably quit the game (at least for a while). If nothing else, why can't Bungie allow a materials exchange like it did for armor stuff?

You need exotic shards to infuse exotic gear. Max light is 310. Def gonna need those shards lol.

Why not keep etheric light for its original purpose?? Wouldn't it be more beneficial to keep old gear and content available to ascend to current level cap? If anything it would create more diversity throughout players and increase the level of options for players choices of armor and weapons What I mean by this really is it'll eliminate clones of everyone only wearing ttk gear and also it'll allow players to keep their gear they were already happy about for instance i leveled and ascended all gear and weapons on my characters I enjoyed mostly from iron banner content so to see that gear being made useless with no way to bring it up to current level caps is beyond frustrating considering the grind it took. Input on why this decision was made and how it helps the game would be appreciated
