You all realize Bungie no longer has the rights to halo dont you
English
-
Overkill doesn't have the rights to halo, legend of Zelda, pokemon, the movie Heat etc. But they still have masks based on them.
-
They dont need rights to make a reference retard
-
This. You can reference anything.
-
You do realize what a reference is, right?
-
Gearbox doesn't own mine craft but that didn't stop them from making an easter egg in borderlands 2
-
Didn't stop dying light taking the piss out of destiny's original loot cave. Lol
-
And Valve doesn't own the countless games they adore and give reference to in their games. So your point is what? It's a reference not a claim of ownership.
-
You don't need to own the rights to something to make an easter egg.
-
Jesus can i live? Bungie doesn't own the rights to Halo. They cannot create a game, publish a book, etc. whoever is in the pod, its not chief
-
Just like those aren't zombies and creepers from Minecraft in borderlands B)
-
That is why they do it in a way that cannot be proven to be a Halo reference.... at least not proven in a court of law. Otherwise they would have copyright infringement suits brought against them. This is obviously an om-age to Halo by the creators of Halo.

Edited by Krankmas: 9/21/2015 5:34:44 PMThis "Bungie doesn't own the rights to Halo " shit really nails home how ignorant people are. Did Duke Nukem creators have rights to Doom? Or Halo also? No? Yeah, didn't think so. Or did Witcher creators have rights to Assassins Creed? Also no? Wow how weird. Finally Borderlands for all the games referenced. Did they have rights to any of it? It's still no. Easter eggs like that is just nods to games, they require no rights or permission of any kind if done right.
-
And yet they didn't use the words(or numbers) halo, john, master chief, spartan or 117. Bungie is not responsible for what people interpret from their words, despite how obvious they may be.
-
i dont think borderlands had the rights to any of the things they referenced, didnt stop em from making shit
-
Doesn't mean they can't make a reference to it.
-
Bungie doesn't own the rights to Dark Souls either but there are Easter eggs referring to that game too.
-
The original Fable had Halo's sword in it sooooooo yeah.
-
Invalid point. Microsoft owns rights to both games.
-
The same teams didn't work on them though they were just two games, and that brings me too my second point which is shut up poop head no one asked you.
-
You just rekt him
-
Yet there is already a confirmed Easter egg?
-
For -blam!-s sake people don't have to own a game to make an Easter egg about it. Bungie made halo for 10+ years of course there will be Halo Easter eggs.
-
You do realize there is already a confirmed Master Chief easter egg don't you?
-
Where a lot of folks snipe the rocket McDickface tank from.

Exactly
