Here's a rundown of what the gun is and how you can get it for yourself too: The gun: PICTURE- http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=destiny+the+taken+king+exotics&view=detailv2&&id=2D9A43AB7912743F05C6360DC0DFF7E0D5C7C539&selectedIndex=16&ccid=PNke5Vds&simid=607993853162620516&thid=OIP.M3cd91ee5576c6ac6705791373b46a204o0&ajaxhist=0 -it is a scout rifle. -its attack value is 310 (if you happen to delete it, though, the blueprint version only has a 280 attack value.) -its special perks are as follows: the final round of the magazine regenerates and causes bonus damage, while inflicting damage to the user, and, three rapid kills with this weapon regenerate health. -it has full-auto as a hidden perk. -the description reads "Let them feel every lash, every curse, every touch of malice that they first dealt to me." -Eris Morn -it does 44 damage per critical in crucible, 62 if the special perk is activated. -it needs hadium flakes in order to be upgraded. How to get it: -the first requirement is beating the King's Fall raid. Complete the quest Eris gives you which requires you to pick up a certain item from each of the raid bosses, then turn it in to her. -She will then give you a quest, similar to the sword quest, which requires you to find materials to begin building the gun. You will need 25 wormspore, 50 hadium flakes, and 50 weapon parts to complete this quest. -Once that is finished, you will need to find a certain amount of calcified fragments to unlock the next quest. I think it's somewhere between 35-40 because that's when it activated for me. The quest is called "Hunger Pangs", and requires you to do the Undying Mind strike and kill a major that spawns during the boss fight (similar to the thorn bounty). -After completing that quest, you will need to find the remaining calcified fragments until you have 45. Eris will give you the final quest, also called "Hunger Pangs", and this time you will redo the last mission in "The Taken War: Mars" quest, where you have to fight the echo of Oryx at the end. Again, a major will spawn during the boss fight that you have to kill. This mission is recommended 270 light, but I highly recommend having a friend help you because it is very challenging. -With this quest done, return to Eris, and she will give you the exotic weapon. I hope this helps anyone who was confused about the gun. I myself only learned of its existence last night, and now I have it! In my opinion, the gun is awesome, and really fun to use both in PvE and PvP (but it's not a god weapon in PvP like the Mythoclast was when it first came out). Best of luck with getting this weapon, guardians! EDIT: I'm making this section to answer some common questions I've seen in the comments: Q: Does it matter which step I do first? Am I screwed if I do hunger pangs before doing the raid? A: No, the order in which you do the quests does not matter. I would recommend doing the raid first so you can get those calcified fragments out of the way and get the old hunger quest done too, but as long as you complete the old hunger quest and both hunger pang quests, you will be ok. Q: I am on the first hunger pangs quest, the one where you have to kill the major during the Undying Mind strike, but the major isn't spawning for me. What do I do? A: First, make sure you are doing the actual quest where the major spawns. If you just do the normal Undying Mind strike, it will not spawn, The quest should show up as a mission on venus (think back to the mission you had to do for the thorn bounty; similar to that). The major will spawn after you've gotten the boss's health down to half, and he will spawn on the right side of the area. The major is a taken knight. You do not need to kill the boss after killing the major (you'll see the quest complete itself anyway). Q:What about the second hunger pang quest? A: Pretty much the same, except this time the major is a wizard. I was standing in the little entrance room when it spawned, so I don't know exactly where it spawns in. Rockets or the telesto kill her really fast. Q: Is the gun worth it? A: Depends. If you're a collector, then obviously yes. If you will be doing the King's Fall raid many times in the future, then definitely yes, because it is VERY useful during the deathsingers and oryx fights. Other than that, not really. It's not really usable in regular pve, because the mag size is low and you risk dying if you use the regen perk, especially during hard strikes. It's also not very good in pvp, for the same reason, and also that it doesn't do that much damage without the regen perk. If you don't like it, though, you still have a 310 weapon you can infuse into something else, so there's that. Q: How can I tell which fragments I have and which ones I don't? A: Go to grimoire, and under "enemies" click on "books of sorrow". This is a list of all the calcified fragments, and you can see which ones you've already unlocked and which ones you haven't. Google a list of all the known calcified fragments that have been found (there are lots of them) and compare to see which ones you haven't found yet. Also, remember that in order to get the hunger pang quests, the calcified fragments must all be found on one character, so even if it's one that you picked up on another character, you have to go get it with the character you are trying to get the gun with.
