Best scout rifle in TTK?
I love Scouts; it's my thing. But, I don't yet have a legendary or exotic Scout from TTK. I love my Saterine Rapier with firefly; it is awesome but at 170 damage, it's not very fierce. I've got some Scout coming from the gunsmith on arms day, but..... Anybody have any suggestions? And how you picked it up. And perks....
*Edit* Ok. After reading about all of your Scouts and all of your suggestions I'm going to do the following:
Level up the gunsmith to 3.
Do strikes on Mars till I'm sick.
Pledge allegiance to Dead Orbit
*Edit* Wow. Didn't realize there were so many Scout lovers out there. I just assumed hand cannons ruled for most everyone (but me and a small handful of Halo DMR lovers). Thanks for all the info.
*Final Edit* OK. My gunsmith is almost to rank 3 (for Tlaloc). I've pledged allegiance to Dead Orbit and will get my marks tomorrow (for Hung Jury) and I will keep grinding Mars Strikes (for Treads upon stars). Thank you all so much for your recommendations as well as your thoughts; I'm squared away.
That being said, after 1500 plus comments, it's time to let this thread die, let my iPhone rest and get some sleep at night. Seriously, my wife is super pissed that my phone has been making the "ghost" sound 50 times a night. Don't you people need sleep?
OK. Final edit on 8/25/16: Can't believe this came up again. I have been using the Hung Jury (Dead Orbit Scout) for months. It is amazing and at 335 kicks ass. There is nothing better in the game than a single shot to the head, triggering the firefly animation. NOTHING BETTER; prove me wrong.

Edited by Wheeze: 9/21/2015 1:42:40 PMIt's certainly not the "best," but I have an Omolon scout rifle Cocytus SR4 with Rescue Mag, Single Point Sling and Grenadier. It's the same impact/ROF to The Scholar. I initially wasn't thrilled with the perk rolls, but I've found it to be a very effective workhorse weapon. I just got it as a Gunsmith rank up, so I know that doesn't help. Waiting on my Suros scout rifle to arrive for Armsday.

Edited by Network: 9/21/2015 1:40:35 PMThe scout rifle I have on my hunter. 4 shot head shot in crucible and I can shoot you in the body and it'll still register a crit. Hidden hand with the scope it has and it has ridiculous aim assist. I killed some guy around a corner last night (no lag, I hit him more than once). I had the shadowstalker perk telling me he was still there so I just fired right at the edge of the wall and apparently the bullets were curving lol.

Boolean Gemini is an awesome scout. Gotta do the taken war quests for Petra and wolves stuff but it's well worth it.

This thing is a freaking monster! Now it is going to be hard to switch back to Scouts. Working on the Boolean Gemini now so we'll see.

Not got n exotic yet but Treads upon stars is a decent one I have another legendary which is pretty good two but at the mo I've stuck to the Monte Carlo.

I have the latter at 250..290 while I was still kicking about a 197 green scout as it was the best I'd got. At least I've now just got a blue 254, which is better - but the drop rate of pulse/auto/HC seems FAR higher than scout :-( As it happens, while a long time scout fan (Another NITC + firefly), Red Death towards the end of year one persuaded me that there was a place for pulse rifles so my lead weapon at the moment is 281 pulse legendary (that I infused a duplicate 290 Monte Carlo into).

It's called "Tlaloc" Mag Size is 20 Perks: Grenadier(Automatically unlocked) Eye Of The Storm(First Perk) Hand Loaded/Armour Piercing Rounds/Injection Mold(Choice Perks) Exotic Perk is called "Overflow," Sunbreakers and Sunsinger's can make the best use of the perk and here's why! [spoiler]Overflow causes this weapon to, basically, gain it's own super ability when you get yours charger. "this weapon has better handling, rate of fire and stability while the wielder's super is charged" so once your super goes full, you've got a scout rifle that's better than the vision in every way excluding elemental damage![ by Omolon, Sexiest weapon producer in town./spoiler]

9 RepliesI would recommend the DO scout as many have. It comes with a 16 round mag, VoC like impact and RoF, Firefly, and hand laid stock as a bonus. The stability is already insanely high and this just maxes it out. Scouts seem to be the best option still for PvE because of their mag sizes beat Hand Cannons and their ability to one shot most lower tier enemies.
