I love Scouts; it's my thing. But, I don't yet have a legendary or exotic Scout from TTK. I love my Saterine Rapier with firefly; it is awesome but at 170 damage, it's not very fierce. I've got some Scout coming from the gunsmith on arms day, but..... Anybody have any suggestions? And how you picked it up. And perks....
*Edit* Ok. After reading about all of your Scouts and all of your suggestions I'm going to do the following:
Level up the gunsmith to 3.
Do strikes on Mars till I'm sick.
Pledge allegiance to Dead Orbit
*Edit* Wow. Didn't realize there were so many Scout lovers out there. I just assumed hand cannons ruled for most everyone (but me and a small handful of Halo DMR lovers). Thanks for all the info.
*Final Edit* OK. My gunsmith is almost to rank 3 (for Tlaloc). I've pledged allegiance to Dead Orbit and will get my marks tomorrow (for Hung Jury) and I will keep grinding Mars Strikes (for Treads upon stars). Thank you all so much for your recommendations as well as your thoughts; I'm squared away.
That being said, after 1500 plus comments, it's time to let this thread die, let my iPhone rest and get some sleep at night. Seriously, my wife is super pissed that my phone has been making the "ghost" sound 50 times a night. Don't you people need sleep?
OK. Final edit on 8/25/16: Can't believe this came up again. I have been using the Hung Jury (Dead Orbit Scout) for months. It is amazing and at 335 kicks ass. There is nothing better in the game than a single shot to the head, triggering the firefly animation. NOTHING BETTER; prove me wrong.

3 RepliesEdited by Soul_Eater_42: 9/22/2015 10:57:39 PMThe new Omolon Scout Rifle from Dead Orbit, the Hung Jury SR4, is a keeper. The Vendor roll on it is: --Triple Tap --Extended Mag --Hand-Laid Stock --Firefly --Underdog Fantastic recoil control/stability (barely has any kick to it at all), accuracy, and a very nice sight called Signal MS5, which highlights enemies at a distance. Possibly the best thing Dead Orbit's ever had.

2 RepliesEdited by Mindshard: 9/23/2015 2:05:35 AMJade Rabbit or Touch of Malice. ToM puts out absolutely insane damage and never runs out of ammo if you keep that final shot going. There's ways to keep your health from depleting as well to negate the health drain. I think that a gun that does double damage with infinite ammo should have a bigger drawback than a slight health drain that can easily be negated. What I find odd is Luke Smith making comments acknowledging that people would consider it the year 2 Gjallarhorn. I thought the whole point of nerfing the super popular/too strong weapons was to prevent it, not to make a new one and then straight up tell us that's what it is...

Treads upon stars

I got a Treads Upon Stars today, at 290 attack. Has triple tap, high caliber rounds and firefly. Before it dropped I was all set to buy the hung jury from dead orbit. Probably wait on that now as it has nearly the same stats and perks as my Treads Upon Stars anyway

5 RepliesBuy the vendor dead orbit omolon scout (on my titan) its OP as fvck! It has hand laid stock which almost maxes out the stability completely with 3 great sights. It also has firefly! It has other perks too, check out my titan if you want to look. Im amazed no one has even talked about the vendor weapons yet. FWC hand cannon has LiTC and firefly! New monarchy auto rifle has a decent set of perks too!

4 RepliesEdited by ItsSunnyAlways: 9/22/2015 5:53:51 PMI took a look a bit back in the thread and no one has said it yet - the NL Shadow 701x. It's in the most rapid rate of fire class of scout rifles. Out of all legendary scout rifles, it's the only one with an impact that's better than the rest of its class. 6% more than the good old B-line Trauma types. I have an absolute monster of a perk roll on my Titan. It's so much fun with the crazy RoF (however it gets a bit tiresome pulling the trigger 90mph). It's nasty in both crucible and pve. Since there isn't any exotic in the same RoF class, I actually don't feel out gunned by not using an exotic primary when playing competitively. I would have been very happy with full auto, but I recently discovered Hot Swap as a complete powerhouse perk that's not very well known (at least not used on any year1 exotics). If you didn't know, that perk has a visual timer (4seconds) and can actually transfer to special or heavy weapons. A high RoF sniper can squeeze out 3 shots with the perk stability buff. Edit: Statistics for all weapons available can be found on destinydb.com Hung Jury is in the next class with a lower RoF. Last Extremity is then in the next and slowest class of RoF. Both are going to be a beat or second best choice in their class, since each only have about 4-5 competitor SRs available in TTK. So it comes down to what time of RoF you like, and then hope for the best possible perk roll. Perk roll is a complete game changer for primaries.
