Jolly Holliday quest is too hard
Is it just me or is the jolly Holliday quest too hard. I'm just talking about getting kills in crucible with last word. It sucks that if your niche isn't getting right up in people's faces with the last word, then you can't get an awesome exotic shotgun. I think to fix this problem, bungie should not make your progress go down when you get killed.What do you think?

Edited by enigmatic_kaos: 9/23/2015 2:22:48 PMDo a lot of squatting and sliding when it's equipped as primary, remember people can't use radar on you if your squatting so take control areas and see where everyone like to approach that point from creates crazy amount of kills, also go crazy with your super for streaks! High intellect.

1 Reply*sigh* I know I'll probably get flak for telling you this... The trick is this: you get 1 point for kill with TLW, 2 points for headshot with TLW, -2 points for death, and you get points for kill streaks regardless of method. You also don't lose percentage when TLW IS UNEQUIPPED!! so, equip a weapon you're good at, get two kills, switch to TLW, use shotty or grenades to kill a few more, things looking like you're gonna die soon? Switch back to other weapon if possible. Cherish heavy, use a machine gun with high impact and good stability/range. Wait for people to fight over heavy, if you can grenade/super do it because it's worth the heavy. Once you get heavy, find a corner to hide in, wait for the heavy weapon kills to stop popping on your feed. Then (with your back always covered whether by allies or a wall, start attacking, no more than 2 at a time. Kill streaks are key, kill streaks add big percentages to your quest. So try to get 5 kill streaks as much as possible. Play conservative. Remember 1% is worth 2 points.

I have to say the last word is garbage, but just equipped it and snipe or shotgun, super, abilities and heavy.

Omg - this is the worst start to a quest. I feel your pain. Last word is so nerfed. I fcking hated this part and had no problem with any crucible stuff before this. I beat the thorn bounty I 6 games. But felt like smashing stuff using the new last word.

Requiring stellar performance is ridiculous. This kind of thing is probably one of the worst quests I've ever dealt with in a game. If I could avoid the Crucible altogether I likely would. I never expected it to be as integrated and relied upon ad it is. PvP is a side activity in a game like this as far as I'm concerned.

Is it just me or can't you use the year one last word...I tried it with the year 1 version but it wasn't counting any kills.

5 RepliesYou want to know the cheapest way to complete this part? Don't equip the weapon till you either have your super or heavy ammo and just use those to get kills then switch out the Last Word when you don't have either of those. You don't have to get kill specifically with the weapon so that's why this works.

I don't have a problem with your progress in the game you're in going down when you get killed, it's when it affects [b]previous games [/b]progress. These days, all it takes is getting matched into a game with a fireteam running Lag switches and you're instantly back to 0. I think the progress reversal should be for that game only - not total.

Before I started this quest I thought I was gonna get destroyed as I don't rate myself as a good crucible player. 1 game in I get to 18%, next game it rose to 40%, then after that I never looked back. I completely destroyed it after 5 games. Then I smashed everyone on crucible with the shotgun now I only have to kill the shield bros with a shotgun now too and I'm done. So yeah I guess I'm not bad at crucible after All..

2 RepliesSo far every chaperone review I've seen has categorized the weapon as lack luster That doesn't help a collector, but if you're after it solely for its potency you may be off the hook.
