Who started with MGSV?
If you did, what the actual -blam!- is wrong with you? That's like starting Halo at 4, or starting LotR at the last book. It's incredibly stupid.

3 RepliesNo - it would be incredibly stupid to spenf years and millions of dollars to make a game that could not be enjoyed without the customer buying and playing outdated games. This would effectively eliminate a huge portion of the game market and they did NOT make the game for the fans - like any business a product is first made with the goal or turning a profit. What you suggest only shows your fanboyism and complete lack of economic and business understanding. What you are suggesting is preposterous. Ill use a terrible example to compare - those awful resident evil movies. 6? 7? Lost count. First one was decent. Anyway imagine the 2nd was made to only be understood by people who watched the first. The third was made to only be understood by people who watched the 2nd. The fourth only to be understood by people who saw the third. Each movie would elimininate more and more watchers and limit profit. Thats why each movie explains the background first. Anyway, MGS5 is awesome and I never played any of the others

I played the demo for MGS2 on a demo disc on my ps2 but never really got into it. I played MGS4 around the end of 2010 I think, It was a tragic year so I don't really remember but anyway I loved it. Once they brought out the legacy collection I snatched it up and played from 2 up to peace walker with "MGS3 Snake Eater" being my favourite simply because of the setting and old school stealth and personally I liked Big Boss more then Solid Snake in truth my fav leads are in this order Big Boss,Raiden,Solid Snake. So I am somewhat educated on the series I will go back and play MGS1 sometime in the future but for now MGSVTPP has my attention and refuses to let go.

I wouldn't say its incredibly stupid given all the ads on TV. That said ivs been playing MGS since the first one on PlayStation I've only walked through some of the hospital so far. I'll play more probably a 10hr+ marathon after I get my hunter to light level 290+

2 RepliesWhen I was young I played this weird and super hard game called Metal Gear on the NES. Later down the road, PlayStation Magazine sent me a demo disc with Metal Gear Solid. I purchased a PS2 for MGS2. I purchased a PS3 for MGS4. I've been here for a while.

The only game you really need to play is PW, mostly because the game is PW 2: Electric Boogaloo. Hell you don't even need GZ

I started with 4 but never got to play mgo2 sadly and then mgs3 then ground zero then I managed to play mgsv the phantom pain but unfortunately my ps3 is now done and I never finshed the game :'(

2 RepliesDo you have money that you can give me to buy every other metal gear solid game? No? I didn't think so. Then I would also need the systems aswell. How much is the HD collection again? Me here can I get it for a system that I actually own. Yeah no thanks, I'll play them some other time. Plus MGS v is one of the only tolerable MGS games for me, it's just realistic enough for me to enjoy it (the story).

Started with MGS4 when it came out. I never had playstations or the opportunity o get the games when i did so when the HD Collection came to 360 i got it instantly and played them all. Haven't played MGS1 yet because it's basically a PS exclusive like 4 is. Maybe one day. I know all the lore nearly perfectly though.
