High Value Target Quest Bug???
So I'm doing the high value target quest where you have to kill 3 high value targets on all patrols... I have finished all of them.. EXCEPT for Venus. Why? I can't seem to find a star beacon mission to do them.. I've tried going to Venus a dozen times and I can't find one of those missions.. Anyone having this trouble?

It passed more then a year from your question, but I have not found any answer...I have the same issue! It there any reasonable explanation and sugestion what is possible to do to finish the quest? Thx

Why doesn't the moon HVT Patroll spawn a boss at the end anymore? I've done 2 and i need one more but so far I've tried it like 5 times and it gives me a "mission complete" notification after i got 100%??

I'm in the same boat man. 😞 I have trouble on Mars and Venus. with Venus, the skull patrols never pop. And on the moon, only one pops up for what seems to be 100% of the time in the area HellMouth... and all it is about is clearing an infestation in the Temple of Crota. I will say, this may be bugged because I am have done that patrol dossens of times, not one leader was killed. Many red and yellow barred enemies, but none which are a HVT.

I've had two at the same time in the Ishtar academy. Also just start doing other patrol missions and they will eventually pop up.

They pop up in the citadel sometimes and from spawn go right for the best luck. Venus vip patrol seems to appear the least, it's not glitched just rng patrol lol

Venus just sucks for target beacons. Happened to me too but it's not a bug, they just never show up. I had the best luck near the Vault area and the Cliffs.

13 RepliesIf you do a skull and crossbones mission and it ends in you defeating a mini boss, that also counts. I found this out during frustration trying to get VIPs to show up

2 RepliesYou could wait for the taken forces to spawn and the last guy you kill should count as a VIP kill. There are also patrol missions that have a skull and bones where you have to kill taken forces and possibly a boss where it counts as a VIP. I did this a few ones and only some worked but I still managed to finish the quest by using these.

1 ReplyTry running a few of the missions to clear an area of missions, goto orbit, to another planet, then back to Venus.

Head to the waking ruins via the ember caves, check each location on route. If nothing by the time you're at waking ruins go back to orbit and repeat. It sucks but it's doable.

Do you just pop up your ghost and it'll show you a certain patrol?

I found that out on the moon. The easiest one is the cosmodrome. They seem to be everywhere

Yes same here, but I found some eventually. Just clear the beacons, abandon them and move on, next time around there might be one...

Venus is bugged. Been there a few times, the same mission is normally on at least two of the beacons and the High Value does not spawn. The Moon was bad, but at least the patrols showed up in two trips, three at least now for Venus and no second HVT patrol.

Yes. I just did this lastnight. Had to return to orbit 5 or 6 times. All 3 times that I found it, it was in the zone for Vault of Glass. Hope that helps.

I was having that same problem last night. Eventually I was able to get one every few times I'd reset Venus by going to orbit.

I cant find sh!t on the moon. When I used to do normal patrol missions pre-TTK, every 1 of 3 was a stupid VIP target. Now I can't even get one. wtf man

I tired this for ages, just go to orbit to refresh them and then do the loop so can see all the patrols on the way round

Venus does seem to be the place with the least VIP patrols. As said just go to orbit to refresh them, drive the loop from ember caves round to shattered coast, rinse & repeat till you find one.

If you wait about where the 2 ultras spawn on the top platform and the other one spawns beside the conflux you will get a high value target.

It doesnt have to be taken, it could be the regular high value target. What I do is if I don't find it I refresh to the orbit
