They're actually somewhat interesting to fight against.
Before TTK:
Vandal? Headshot and dead
Knight? Headshot and dead
Phalanx? Hit arm, then headshot and dead
Psion? Headshot and dead
Captain? Headshot and dead
...
At least the Taken do different things and have better mechanics!
