Keeping a coporeal form in our dimension is taxing for the hive gods, who manifest naturally in their own fabricated deminsions, where they have access the (presumably) all of the power (net mass/thermal/hive energy) within that pocket dimension, and oryx's form still had most of the powers that the hive champions have had, including some serious light-punishing ablilities. If you remember all the work it took to try and get crota a body in our deminsion, but we stopped him before he was summoned, and faught him in a broken, weakened form, and still could only injure him with his own armament, and his mere presence could keep you from regening health. So oryx, having all these powers is pretty impressive, and the fact that we basically did nothing to weaken him, aside from destroying this inferior fleshy form, and we're about to go into home turf, i expect to see some crazy hive magic.
