Did you make your sons ps4 your home which would allow him to use the stuff you buy there and this is more of a 360 issue

As far as I know I have not made any ps my home or main.

You should thats why you encounter the promble make the ps4 you gave your son your home console and he will be able to play the content you buy regardless if bought on your other console as your home would have the licences
