ToO unavailable entirely without TTK. Even though we already paid for it with the HoW DLC.
Nightfalls, dailies, and heroics now unavailable without TTK. Which we originally purchased by buying Destiny at launch.
Several other things.
So, bungie said, "buy the expansion or we will remove access to multiple things you've already purchased."
Hot damn, can't wait for more threads coming out later on this topic.
Throwing in some edits for the hell of it:
-basically beta tested year one just so they could get our feedback and make the game resemble something that should have been at launch, but guess what, you have to pay $40 to play a game that the community basically fixed.
-if you haven't/don't buy TTK, you basically only have a demo left to play. Everything that was in the Vanilla version, TDB, and HoW pretty much all had to be repurchased to access again. (Fućking REALLY ?)
Ran out of enough fućks to give to add more points. :/ I'll leave that to Maphisto and/or Sols.

61 RepliesEdited by CMoneyStreth: 9/21/2015 2:32:46 PMHave you never played a game with expansions before? If you don't buy the expansions you get left behind simple as that its not rocket science. By the way could you imagine playing against people in ToO with TTK weapons and gear while everyone without the expansion is running around with year one gear? You would probably get one shot by an autorifle running around in there like a damn thrall.

Still upset about this

1 ReplyWhy are there so many posts like this. Just go play another game that isnt a paid mmo. Like cod wont let you stop playing multilayer and there are tons of great single player games.

8 RepliesYea this is a classic bait and switch. We bought this months ago, TDB & HoW, now they place a pay wall in the way. Its like hey you know that candy bar i sold you last week for 80$, that you already ate? I need another 40$ for it. Then Luke Smith goes and makes fun of you cause you pony up the dough. We already bought this content, there need to be level 34 options for: Nightfall Weekly Heroic ToO I.B. Thats what will happen mark this comment and remember i said it because this is classic bait and switch. Bungie/Activision will end up making these changes, because what they are doing is illegal. EULA can't be cited for this because we have purchased this content, and they have "changed it" to where we cant get what we paid for. If they altered it in a way where we could still use what we paid for, the you can say EULA. Not now, they messed up

9 RepliesDestiny is the ONLY game to lock old content behind new DLC.

I am highly disappointed the way things have turned out with destiny. One thing that really has bugged me was that when I would purchase a destiny dlc Crota and HoW that I didn't have to actually download anything new content, all you basically got was a key to access the new content. After I started playing it I shortly realized that this shit was already on the disc I paid for (don't know for TKK) all they did was take a full game, chop two arms off of it and sold them as a dlc to squeeze money out of one game disc. That part really irritated me that the dlcs were already prebuilt on the disc

Bungie is Stelio Kontos.

You didn't buy anything. You bought the ability to play Bungies game. That's all you bought. Without that u cannot play destiny and bungie can stop you and anyone else at any point they feel. They can change the stuff in their game as much as they want. Imagine a minecraft server and you buy the get the password for it. They can change anything in the game or ban you all they want. You just bought the password from bungie/actjewvision. Agreed though.

8 RepliesI'm pretty sure a business revoking a customer's access to a product that they have purchased, without their prior knowledge and after no wrong-doing is illegal. When I get a chance, I may try and find the Legislation against it. tl;dr Law-suit time baby.

Now why the hell would we actually want to play something that we paid $95 for?

1 ReplyBungie is targeting more and more casual gamers. They are not the people who look into gaming news all day. They don't know that if you buy a full priced game today it is stripped to bits in 2-3 months. It's not about "passing the news" it is about fairness and the overall spirit of gaming. Sure one can be hyped to get new content, but the realization that fairness needs to be maintained for keeping people on board is something, too. The past DLCs did leave you out of some activities, but they did not strip you from basic gameplay concepts. If they need a subscription based model to keep the game alive, they should use it. But there are tons of non subscription based games out there that live on and on. Why not allow non TTK buyers to level up to 40. Get the 3rd subclass. Play the past Crucible maps and modes. They have payed for the main game, most likely even two DLCs, but no are left behind. Even if they potentially wanted to wait to buy and just gather the basics until then, they are not able to. The idea would be to have a common base line for all gamers. Still they won't be able to get the full experience. - No new Raid. - Not all weapons. - Not all story missions. - Not all strikes. - Not all game modes in Crucible, but at least the ones they had before. This was the concept in the past. You were not forced to buy it directly, but could do it at your own pace. Fairness. Rather that force.

I have the taken king, but i agree.

15 RepliesWhen will any of you understand this? An online multiplayer game has servers. They aren't going to continue to pay to keep servers open for people who don't support the game. This isn't cod with simple map additions, the game is always developing and changing. So if you can't keep up, you will be left behind. How do you expect to make it in trials anyway when everyone who bought TTK is a higher level, higher gear and better weapons? Makes no sense.
-
I am hoping Bungie will make some changes so people without TTK will still enjoy the game they purchased.
