I know there are two pronunciations (German and Dutch I think).
How do you say it? Also, can a German or Dutch tell me which way I'm pronouncing it?
I say "Heckah".
Edit: So I looked it up on Google Translate (something I should have done at first) and it has told me that the word is actually Finnish, but there are pronunciations for it in Dutch and German that ARE different. Here we go.
Finnish and Dutch: "Ha-Kay"
German: "Ha-kuh"
No idea where I got "Heckah" from lol. I think I heard DeeJ say that once. I'll probably end up saying it the German way since I have roots in Germany! Yay for edumacation.
Edit 2: So some Germans have commented and said that they do NOT say "Ha-kuh". They say it's hard to explain. So I'm going to explore the internets for a little while to see what I can dig up on the German pronunciation!

Edited by Stealthy: 9/14/2015 2:52:42 PMGoogle for the german word 'Hecke' and let some translation portal like leo.org read it to you. EDIT: ok, leo.org doesn't pronounce it right ... Maybe someone knows a better portal Hecke and Häkke are pronounced nearly the same in german as kk=ck and e is nearly ä in häkke
