Anyone get anywhere successful with either Bungie or PSN on the topics of the error codes 80710723, 800233EF, or 800233e8? PSN calls it 1.13, but Bungie calls it 2.0 - yet they are of the same issue. Not all are affected, but I fear the majority of us have been affected by this catastrophe of an update. And I personally have been searching for past 6 hours online, and been attempting myself in fixing this issue by checking internet and system issues, none of which have been found. We need the two in question to get on this, as it seems to be solid issue of the download as any other game does not have these issues. The two parties keep blaming it on each other and no progress seems to have been made, and we are irritated. Also, may it be due to Bungie currently doing maintenance on their servers and whatnot? As many others within the game who have successfully downloaded this patch are encountering Bungie's error codes such as Baboon amongst others.

To solve the problem you need to enter recovery mode of PS3 (search in YouTube) and select the option rebuild data base and follow the steps, then start the game without been logged in at PSN and update :)

8 RepliesEdited by CavChap: 9/12/2015 10:52:11 PMI am having same issue. Have never gotten 1.13 more than 80% before I get the error message. I have researched it and tried EVERY solution anyone has posted. I know it can be done, as the PS3 at my kids house (across the country from me) has made it finally work. I wish that PSN or Bungie would at least address the issue, even if they don't have a solution yet. Quit just pinning it on the other. I am wired to high speed internet, trying when no one else is on, have reset my console and router/modem, tried alternative settings in the Internet connection settings, emptied caches, have 420 GB free (Destiny is the only game I own/play and I have a 500 gig PS3). Help us out Bungie!!!

I had trouble downloading first but took a break from downloading it by playing a different game. After I got bored so I then proceeded to download 2.0 again and it only took about 45 minutes so maybe taking a break from downloading will help?

1 ReplyEdited by LethalOldMan: 9/13/2015 5:26:09 AMWhen u google "ps3 error code 80710723" this is what comes up. . . Re: Error 80710723 PS3 won't update any of my games. ..... The firewall was the problem (actually Sony or the game not writing their code to be compatible with standard firewalls!). UPDATE: took my console to my sisters house & tried her ISP and IT WORKED 100% complete!! DL & installed in an hour & a half!!! I haven't played yet but it's done & loads to character select!!

Everybody, I would like to thank you for your advice and ideas. I finally got it to work, out of all things another attempt to download it with no changes, and it succeeded after a 7 hour download and half hour installation. It seems to want to do it out of it's arse and at random. Sincerely, I appreciate all the tips and advice for fixing it.

1 ReplyError 80710723 pertains to a disconnect error, many people had issues downloading the update and getting this error. Simply put too many people downloading. clear your consoles internet cashe, cookie and history, reset the console and wait a bit then try again. I tried 6-8 times over maybe 4 hours and never got past 58% but cleared everything, waited till 8am the next morning, got ho,e after work and it was done.

1 Replydisconnect your internet and reconnect and then update this worked for me. I was originally connected with an Ethernet cable, so I switched to Wi-Fi and then back to Ethernet. It was updated in 2-3 hours.

I get the same error as well, and I have done everything but nothing works, and I think Bungie left us to our luck Obviously this is unfair, and we still get no answers
