Opinions on 2.0 Weapon Rebalance

So we have all had a few days to play around in the PVP world, the two new games modes are a lot of fun. There are so many different types of weapons you can use within PVP now and be able to compete, instead of just TLW or Thorn being the only two. What does everyone think about it? What is your favourite gun to use and why? In my honest opinion, they got the weapon balance right, its opened up so many different guns to use and use fairly, there is no one powerhouse, pulse's are probably the strongest, but in the right hands can still be outgunned by the other three primaries which I think is great. The Grenades & Horseshoes nerf has really made rockets require more precision to use, many times have I dodged rockets by not even moving, due to the proximity not clicking as easy as it did before. Shotguns though Bungie... I am sorry for being critical on these things but ever since day 1 PVP they have been a problem, they still have too much range. Bungie have nerfed them down so they are not as good when used if a player is not moving, which is great, the range is fine when players aren't moving, but they are forgetting they have perks within the game such as blink and slide and glide, all these things vastly increase the range of shotguns, shotguns got hit hard yes, but not hard enough, they are still an overwhelming force within PVP and its sad to see. We was all excited for 2.0 so we could bring back out our dusty fusion rifles from the vault and have a bit more variety. I am not bashing Bungie for this, they have done a brilliant job with the weapon rebalance, we would expect nothing less since it took near 9 months to do, it would be nice if they fine tuned the weapons now every few months instead of waiting for such a long period of time to do a big update that, lets be honest, none of us enjoyed downloading. They got near everything right except for the shotguns, they have been hit hard, but where Bungie for some reason released the three overranged shotguns, you know the ones im talking about, its just dominated PVP, as soon as one type of gun becomes overpowered, everyone starts using it and thats where the meta comes from and it dulls the game to the point where your forced to use a shotgun. Those are my honest opinions, what are yours?

Auto rifles - suck ass still Pulse rifles - best weapons at the moment Scouts - also a good choice Shotguns - not much has changed Blink - still as bad as ever did it even get nerfed? Bungie have done the right thing in regards to the weapon balance and making the weapon classes all situational just like in games such a Battlefield.. the problem is the maps are poorly designed to cater for all weapon classes making some useless

  • I think pretty much everything is as balanced as it's going to get. I don't really think shotguns are a problem that can be solved. Players just don't like playing medium range or moving backwards. People move left to right but not backwards when they're fighting so shotguns have less space to make up with blink
