Obviously some people are having a hard time understanding the concept.
Let's suppose you buy a membership to a health club.
The membership permits you use of all equipment and facilities within that establishment. For months you get to use the weight room, showers, steam bath, jacuzzi and swimming pool.
Then while your membership is still paid for and valid the club offers classes. Yoga, Pilates, whatever at an additional fee. Suppose you are not interested in these classes and are happy with using the weight machines and all other facilities as you have been doing so.
Uh, no. You MUST purchase the yoga class option in order to continue to use the jacuzzi and steam bath. Features that were included in the original purchasing agreement yet now are off limits.
This isn't a perfect analogy. It was difficult to think of one more apropos because as far as I know...
NO GAMING COMPANY HAS EVER DONE THIS BEFORE!
It makes sense that a customer who hasn't purchased new content be restricted from that content which is new.
All of the old strikes still exist. Customers who purchased that content have a right to it. A nightfall playlist with the old content capped at level 34 is not impossible for Bungie to provide.
I myself have preordered TTK. I spoke out because this feels very wrong to me.
