Nightfall is endgame content. Regardless of your opinion about difficulty, it drops endgame level rewards that put you on the same level as all current end game content, even though the level difficulty was 32, 1 level below the lowest possible level cap of 33 before 2.0. So even year 1 vanilla players could still play it because their level was within the content requirements. With the amount of content being released in TTK, player cap is raised to 40. Nightfall difficulty is also raised to 40 and is still considered end game content and will still yield endgame level rewards which would require level 40 to equip. So if you aren't going to buy the content that allows you to get to level 40, why should you have access to activities that require you to be a level you can't obtain and to be rewarded with gear that you can't even wear? How people can't grasp this is beyond me.
If your response is along the lines of adding in lower level difficulties for vanilla/year 1 players, my response is "Why?" They took out the XP gains and the highest level possible for non TTK owners is 34, which most everyone that still plays are.
Because its still a chance at year 1 exotics? You still have your VoG and Crota. And crucible.
Maybe people should go back and read the EULA agreement that every player had to accept in order to play the game at all. Specifically the part where it clearly states that Bungie has the right to change, remove and restrict any content from not just the game but also future updates and patches. If you clicked on 'Accept' then you agreed to it. If you didnt read it first, that's on you and nobody else. You could have refused and stopped playing at that point.

Not trying to defend the people that just hate this game, but they have a point. DLC means downloaded content. Content. It is only supposed to add new content to a game. Nothing more, nothing less. When you played Skyrim and bought the vampire DLC, all it did was add more for you to do. It didn't take anything away or lock anything out. Same with any other big game. This would be different if this was an actual MMO like WoW. But Bungie themselves have stated time and time again that this is not a MMO. It's a shooter. They can't have it both ways. TTK should just expand the experience, not make parts of it meaningless or inaccessible. That being said, I'm still buying it. It's fun with friends and quite frankly, it's addictive. Most games are fun the first time and then you're not really inclined to do it all over again. This game at least gives you goals to work for. It breaks down to this.. either you want to play it or you don't. Wasting our time arguing over it on here does absolutely nothing for us, except making us look like assholes.

But you have to admit, it was pretty cheap of Bungie. To not add another nightfall for year one end game content. This was obviously another business tactic to draw players into buying the TTK. I know it was a reason for me to buy into it. Otherwise I would of held back and waited for reviews. But I don't have the disadvantage of not having enough money as other might. Destiny year one obviously will be just that. As we see ourselves moving into a whole different direction going into year two with the TTK. That being said there's absolutely no reason for Bungie to lock out year one players from A nightfall. So if Bungie wants to use the base game as their platform for year two. So it saves them money, then they should have made two nightfalls available. I understand the whole ulea but that doesn't make Bungie morally right. That's very poor business practices if you're trying to keep customers happy.
-
What is the reason for nightfall for year 1 content? As it stands right now you gain XP from everything you do in game and you will max level at 34. They took the XP buff away, so that won't help at all. As for year 1 exotics, between VoG and Crota hard modes you have 6 chances per guardian. PoE is also a chance as long as you have a key for the big chest. And you can run 28 as many times as you want. So if you have 3 guardians, which most players do, that's 18 chances per week for exotics plus however many times you run PoE. Even if they had a level 34, the purpose of a nightfall for year 1 is completely and utterly pointless when TTK releases.
-
Well for me, soloing nightfall is fun. I would like to keep on doing that even if ttk isn't great and I don't buy it. For others, they simply may not be finished with the content, or maybe they are just happy with what they have. Some people don't buy any dlc at all. Others may not be able to afford it. I think everyone should have equal opportunities for fun in games they enjoy, not just the ones who pay more.

Christ you people are dense. Why is it one way or no way with you? It would kill bungie to add a level 34 legacy nightfall that only drops year one gear? Of course not, they just want money.
-
You can get your point across without name calling.
-
Amen.

That's cool. Insult people who reply to you without insult. That's the mature thing to do. Again, why? The point of Destiny as a whole is to move forward. Not stay in the same place. You still have avenues to get year 1 end game gear. I even forgot to mention PoE as 1 of them. Is it technically possible for them to add a level for year one players? Yes. Is there a logical reason for them to do so? No. They want to move on to year 2.
-
Because that's the only form of communication he understands.
-
Like you're one to talk about not offending people without reason.
-
I used to trade troll posts with people all the time and at one point I just eventually lost interest in it. Im fine with people not agreeing with me or having a difference of opinion. I just don't see the reason why people can't discuss things without throwing insults and condescension into everything.

Year two of game 1

Edited by Scorpius XX1: 9/14/2015 12:11:08 AMYear two of game one? What the f**k does that mean? It's a new game you retarded jack ass. Muted. Really sick and tired of seeing your stupid crap. And really tired of reading you insult people that do nothing more than disagree. Piss of clown.
-
It's an expansion to the original game. Doesn't even double the content size, so...no. He's right. It's Destiny one, year two.
-
Its Destiny. Not Destiny 2. "Year 2" isn't a thing. Its been tossed out to convince you destiny weapons from year "one" no longer matter. Its sad and a real di.ck move from a dick company. And it's piss off. Piss of is like year 2. Its not a thing.
-
I don't care if you call it shit on a stick. It's a new game and you have to pay for it. Period
-
Don't get mad because I'm right, I'm not the one who made this pile of mediocrity. Year 2 of game 1 is self explanatory because TTK is not a new game, it's an add on, its dlc to Destiny 1.
-
I understand your criticism of Destiny. What I don't understand is your need to constantly complain about a game you don't even want to play anymore. If your done with Destiny, fine, move on with your life. Stop attacking those who still enjoy it.
-
I'm not attacking people who play, I'm attacking Bungie for stealing content people paid for.
-
"Line up fanboys, take your medicine" doesn't sound like criticism of Bungie to me. It's an attack on the supporters of the game.
-
Yeah because they're lackeys for Bungie, here shaming people who are too smart to preorder or are just done. To criticize a fanboy is to criticize Bungie, two peas in a big dumb ass pod.
-
If your sick of the game or Bungies bad policy than be done with it for good, but to continue to come onto the forums and spew insults and hatred at everyone and everything involved with a video game is just not accomplishing anything. Find another game to play and stop visiting the Bungie forums. Move on. Your life will be better for it, and so will the lives of us "fanboys."
