Black hammer runestone?
Anyone know what's up with the black hammer runestone? I ran through crotas end again last night to pick up the three new ghosts, and got a second black hammer. Dismantled it and it gave me the black hammer runestone.
Eris wants me to trade it to her for rep, but surely there's something more it's needed for? None of the other CE weapons give anything for dismantling that I've found so far.
UPDATE 09/15/15: my friend dismantled two black hammers on the same character. He got the runestone from the first one and only energy from the second, so it seems you can only hold one per character of the runestone.

7 RepliesLast night I was heading to the court of Oryx to do public events and above the doorway that you enter to get into the public event area, there were flowing symbols in a pattern that resembled the black hammer rune. After doing the public events I came back and the symbols were gone, so I'm not sure what it is or what it's linked to

Did you go to the place where you normally upgrade weapons in the menu for.the rune? It gave a rune code for court of oryx i think

4 Replies"Rumor" has it the black hammer runestone is to upgrade the new exotic sniper "hereafter" which is pretty much an exotic blackhammer

I turned in one to eris pre ttk got exp and turned a blackhammer runestone in post ttk got exp as well. So i give up

1 ReplyDon't know but I think it's foolish to turn them in to Eris without having any idea whether they'll serve another purpose in TTK. Seems lieka totally new material, that's not exactly easy to get, would have a purpose beyond "get a head start on Crota's Bane rank 4"
