Rift is horribly imbalanced
Going off of what everyone has been saying about rift I expected a great new pvp mode but all I've gotten so far is continually losing by over 10k points and getting camped in my spawn. Every single game. No one on my team can get over k/d of 0.25. Bungie should just scrap the game mode until they think of something that's actually playable
UPDATE: I've had a couple of decent matches but they've always been pretty one sided. Closest match I've had was about 5k points. The spawn camping is especially infuriating in this game mode for some reason
UPDATE 2: I never expected this post to get the attention it has. With that said I realize it's an objective based mode but I shouldn't have to grab a group of friends in order to enjoy it. And yes, I do ptfo, I just don't wanna be the spark runner. You can call me a scrub lord all you want but spawn camping is a real issue. I've played on average teams and terrible teams and the latter is not fun because skill differences are magnified.

Here is the problem I find you need a smart team as soon as you get the spark your team should be running ahead to either sacrifice or kill while you score. I love being the spark runner it's intense as heck especially when people are trying to kill you while you are in mid air scoring.

Never run into spawn campers. Only camping I've seen is spark/rift camping.

Got spawn killed 3 times in a row. Also, once they get your spawning location controlled ,e.g. pantheon, you lost.

Huh, I got my first Phantom & second reign of terror in a game of rift on pantheon with a partially levelled Nightstalker. As for problems with the game mode, maybe switching rifts after igniting it with the spark?

Maybe if they have to hold the spark for a few seconds before they can dunk it

You haven't played enough PvP to be experienced enough to compete with those other teams. That's all. Keep playing, get better.

I think the spark holder and people supporting the holder should get a buff allowing them into enemy territory but after the spark had been scored the buff would go away and they would get a nerf, killing them after a time or lowering their damage.

I've found the mode is most fun with a coordinated fireteam. Running it solo is kind of meh.

I'd prefer Rift to be purely about scoring with the spark. Say...first to 3 wins. It wouldn't help with spawn camping but to combat that they could flip the spawns and bases or add more spawns outside of the bases.

Remove Heavy ammo, and give the Runner permanent suppression effect.

I've had about 2/3 games so far only differentiated by 200ish points, it's been ace playing it personally

I was pretty damn close to a Sum of all Tears the other night because everyone sucks at this mode right now. It's amazing if you play it correctly. Plus a low k/d here is fine if you're running the spark. It's not like control where you can abandon the objective and still win.
