My experience is consistent with yours. I jumped into parties with my friends that updated later in the day yesterday, and instructed them to log on with the character pick up the package from the postmaster, and immediately change characters and receive all three packages before doing any exploring around the tower or jumping between locations. It seems to work, as they all got all three packages successfully, and no one encountered this glitch. The best thing we can do for now is spread awareness to our friends that have yet to pick up their packages.
