Edited by OPs Mother: 9/24/2015 3:48:09 AMDreadnought The dreadnought looks to be about 1/4 of the length of saturns rings. Saturns rings are 12,000km wide so 12,000/4=3000km while the unsc infinity is confirmed at just over 5km long. That means that the dreadnought is larger than the Infinity at 600:1 scale ratio. A better comparison at least size wise would be a ketch vs. UNSC Infinity

Ok so the dreadnought isn't that big FYI

26 RepliesDreadnought I am a halo lore expert But why? UNSC Infinity is exactly 5,694.2 metres (Halo nation) long and is armament is as follows: 4 CR-03, Series-8 MAC (Primary, two fore, two flank) 350 M42 Archer Missile pods, 24 missiles per pod (Secondary) 250 M75 Rapier Missile pods, 30 missiles per pod (Tertiary) 500 M96 Howler Missile pods, 20 missiles per pod (Quaternary) 830 70mm M965 Point-defense gun (Quinary) Mark 2551 Portable Magnetic Accelerator Cannon M85 Anti-Aircraft Guns M97 Guided Missile Weapon Systems HAVOK Tactical Nuclear Weapon Shielding is advanced shields and is forruner origin and is capable of ramming a ship and breaking it with shields at full strength Now it's is a capable ship but it's not enough The dreadnought unfortunately we know so little but we know the size is able to cover a medium area in the rings of Saturn and is bigger than the Infinity It's weaponry is also little known except: A big blast that covers and big range in spherical form it can destroy anything it contacts except matter itself now would the Infinity survive? Probably not from what we can gather it's just wouldn't be enough. It doesn't carry any shields . Mac rounds of the Infinity are its biggest asset it carries 4 but can it destroy the dreadnought? Not on its own it can pierce create a blast zone like it did to the Mantle's Approach but it would require additional support like a ship with proper weaponry into somewhere like the core and even it did destroy the core the ship along with the UNSC Infinity would be destroy not to mention part of the system. None the weaponry could destroy the dreadnought on its own and even then the time it took to pierce the Dreadnought it would probably have activated its main weapon (Dark energy weapon) Now there is variables but in most situations the Dreadnought would destroy the Infinity (1v1 under normal strength) The dreadnought has the best chance of winning due it's armour platting and weapon

UNSC, of course. At least it doesn't take them 4 month to find the distress signal (what happened to poor Crota).

9 RepliesInfinity has long range MAC cannon. My bet is on Infinity. Apparently, Halo is set in the golden age... Scan the pod in Caydes Stash

The Dreadnaught has evil space magic. Space magic = win. Evil space magic = win with some tea bagging to follow.

11 RepliesI'm gonna have to go for the UNSC. I mean come on they have a Nova Bomb. The thing was designed to blow up entire planets and fleets of space craft.
-
Infinity if the dreadnought doesn't blow the whole system with its core
-
Infinity is huge, and carries frigates.

4 RepliesDespite some estimates putting the dreadnought at anywhere from 100-1000 times the infinity's size, I would think that the infinity would have the upper hand due to it having a longer range of attack. But it would still be a long fight, although, a stealth pelican with a dozen Spartan 4's armed with gen 5 AIs could probably disable the main defensive weapon on the dreadnought.
-
3 RepliesInfinity. It has more than one gun...
-
1 ReplyBased off of visual size estimates... The Dreadnaught is anywhere between the size of the United States (long), or the size of Earth. In a straight heavyweight battle, I believe the Dreadnaught would win with no contest. The Infinity, even if it managed to pierce the massive ship to its core, the DN would take the entire system with it.

13 RepliesThe Cabal smashes a ship through the Dreads hull. Infinity has MACs capable of penetrating Mantle's Approach, and it RAN OVER a Covenant armored cruiser. The Dreadnought would be scrap even before its weapon could charge.
-
MAC cannons that is all.
-
Dreadnought. Somebody did some math with relative sizes between the dreadnought and Saturn's rings and figured out that the ship is something like 5,000 km long. The infinity would just be a blip, unfortunately.

Here come the desticles

I'm going to day the unsc infinity due to having so many Spartan lVs aboard. All they would have to do is deploy a few fireteams and wipe out the hive

I'd have to side with UNSC Infinity. With all the Promethean Technology they've accumulated to create the super weapon in the front. Being super heated rail guns (MAC Guns) of the 8th series mind you, might be able to pierce the hull. Not to mention the HAVOK nuclear bombs with 30 megatons of power, also known to rip matter apart. Then again, the Dreadnaught is as old as time, and created by Oryx himself, or itself, by using the bodies of his army, victims, and defeated crusaders. Using his own power to decimate forces at somewhat close range. As long as UNSC Infinity keeps their distance, they'd win through range, but if the Dreadnaught gets too close then the Dead Ship would be the winner.

3 RepliesDepends. I'd give the edge to the infinity if they were aware of the dreadnought superweapon. The dreadnought's weapon seems to work as a massive shockwave effect which repels matter, such as ships and debris, with sufficient force to rip ships apart or crush them. But it seems that it's only a thin shockwave and the area passed by is then safe. Moreover, it seems to have a limited range. So if the Infinity entered the fight blind, it would likely be hit by the first wave and crippled or destroyed. But if it is aware, it can either attack from out of the wave range of the dreadnought using mac rounds or use its precise slipspace navigation to evade blast waves (effectively jumping dimensions to avoid them) and close the gap for point blank mac targeting. And once the mac rounds hit, chances are the dreadnought would be crippled by the destructive power of mac cannons that caused miles wide craters on Sanghelios.
