I have pledged allegiance, so why is the faction rep splitting between Faction and Vanguard?
I don't understand. Can we not give all our XP to the faction like we always have been able to? If not, there's my enjoyment of the game gone. As it will take an age to level a faction. I don't want to level Vanguard. I want to level my factions!

4 RepliesIt's preserving that grind. Before 2.0 (when all of your earned Rep went to the Faction of your choice), it would take approximately 210 or less Crucible matches to gain one Faction level (dependent upon completion of the Nightfall). Now it will take you 420 matches in the Crucible to gain one Faction level. It's all about preserving and extending the grind to cover up the gross lack of content in Destiny's Base Game and DLC, and the grind is [b]increased[/b] to try to further muddle and hide the fact of how short in content TTK is actually going to be. I mean, really; [b][i]look[/i][/b] at TTK's activities. When you realize that the TTK Campaign will only be 5-6 Missions (each class can only do one of the "class specific" missions, so that cuts down on the mission total), then look at what you'll actually be [i]doing[/i] in all of the rest of the TTK content, it's all about grind. Nothing else, just grind. The Court of Oryx, the new Vanguard Strike Playlist, the "new" daily Heroic Crucible Bounties... all nothing more than the polished turd of grind. You're paying $40 USD to have your base game experience wiped out, and replaced with unmitigated grinding. How is this OK with [b][i]anybody!?[/i][/b]

It works also for those who do only cruicible, they can now get vanguard weapons and armor. Does it increase the grind, yes. Will it make everyone happy, no. Will it work, yes. This game is neither a strick pvp or pve, making marks and rep more universal is appropriate and should have been this way from the begining. It will make it more appealing for people to go between the two activities, thus more play life time.

Yes it's dumb. Along with the really low amount of xp bounties give our gear now. Can dump so many bounties into gear now with little to no results.

3 RepliesMight I also point out that you will now have to play approximately 420 crucible matches to get enough for one faction level..... Don't know about you but I don't have enough time in a week to play crucible that much. I understand you can do bounties, but other than this there is no way (besides donations) to achieve faction rank since the vanguard legacy billshit doesn't even give rep.... or at least not for me

1 ReplyI frikin hate it... Used to get 500 from nightfall and now only get about 250, the rest goes to vanguard, who don't even give you anything good. The amount of rep for faction rank should be greatly decreased, or the rep should be increased. I understand you can buy rep now for materials but still, why spend all my materials when I could have just done the weekly

42 RepliesThey reworked the system. They slowed the progression because now you will always get a legendary item in packs and when you get any of the ships or shaders it removes them from the pool which lessens the grind. Also with it splitting you are able to rank up Vanguard and Crucible in those activities instead of what class item you are wearing.

i agree, if i wanted to level vanguard or crucible i would just take my cloak off, but i dont i wear my cloak because im fully dedicated to the new monarchy. screw the vanguard and crucible. go factions!!!

They took me down 11 levels on new monarchy with the 2.0 update gay mfs.. :( i was 31 im 20 now wtf !

I guess you will get faction bounties Tuesday. These bounties will only give rep to the faction. Other crucible and Vanguard bounties will spilt.

It's the trade off for the change to packages. You are guaranteed a legendary at the cost of slower rank ups.

4 RepliesI noticed this and was a bit confuse but when you think about it you're guaranteed a legendary with each package... Sometimes it took 4 or 5 packages until you got a legendary so it makes sense to take 4x longer.. Also have you work a faction bond too? It might give you original Xp gains but I haven't tested it :/

3 RepliesI was pissed about this too, but they are suppose to give better rewards after the 15 24 on new monarchy, like 20 on do and no shader but i got 1 from fwc with less then 10 lol

1 ReplyI assume it's cause the legendary marks that are coming and maybe vangaurd and crucible guys will have more to offer once the next dlc comes out. Wait a week and maybe you'll be happy you can rank up both at the same time
