The "suck all the fun out of useful weapons and kick PvE gamer's butt" Update 2.0 has arrived
Wow what a glorious update this is. Almost all of my favourite weapons have been made less useful and fun. Black Hammer is a poor joke now, Vision can only hold up to 19 rounds and Fatebringer has been reduced to 10 rounds magazine due to the Field Scout perk not affecting magazine size anylonger. And according to the patch notes almost every other useful weapon perk has been nerfed to be less useful or powerful.
Year one gamers put lots of effort and countless hours in levelling their favourite weapons and perks. This update feels like a slap in the face of a D1 Destiny supporter.
Was this really necessary Bungie? I get that competitive gaming needs balance but why not just nerf the weapons for PvP modes only? Why do PvE players have to suffer from balance problems at all?

4 RepliesThe recent nerfageddon that we just went through has me thinking that it's really about the new content not being exactly hard to begin with. Weaken all weapons and perks. This way players are not destroying the new content so quickly. I remember the first time VoG was released. According to Bungie it would take a "team" of guardians 3 to 4 hours to finish. That was laughable. Crota took even less time. Hell I used to 2 man it in maybe 30mins? So they adjusted our stats an attempt to artificially increase difficulty.

Considering Hawkmoon is supposed to be a hand cannon effective at longer range, why am I having issues hitting people 20 yards away. Slightly reduced accuracy while ADS on hand cannons? You've literally made Hawkmoon from a precision firing gun into a spray and pray hand cannon.

Yup if we weren't loyal day one customers we could've gotten all the destiny content for 60 bucks rather than spending 140 bucks for crap. Kick in the nuts to loyal customers

Edited by Fridén: 9/11/2015 6:06:55 PMThe only changes implemented because of PVP were handcannons, final round on a sniper, and shot package/range finder on a shotgun. The rest of the changes nobody really asked for. They were just implemented.

9 RepliesEver played Magic the gathering? The same thing happens, and you spend like 5x more if not even more than even that and the players of the game don't complain. And our stuff goes out of date twice as fast. Just shut up. Magic players are way more respectful of things like this. And when their cards go out of date, they literally CANT use them anymore. They aren't legal in tournament formats. At least we can still use our year one items. Talk to a magic player about this, then try to say it's unfair. AND magic players as I said spend at least 5x MORE than us on their cards and last half as long. So shut up.

I haven't played much for quite some time basically since 2 months after crota and when I went to play again in pve I was stomping enemies left and right with little effort and hardly even using cover. Everything seems to die pretty easy regardless of what weapons I use.

4 RepliesI just got killed at the bridge in the first section of the crota raid by that ogre because 4 g-horn shots didn't kill him and I couldn't get a synth from that glorious half ass ammo system in time. Had I known it was going to be that piss poor I would have popped a synth before hand. No biggie, but man that was a surprise.

I noticed my Found Verdict used to deal 2600 critical and is now down around 1600. It took about 7-8 rounds to down the specialist captain. Otherwise, it is just as much of a cinch as it has always been. I assume equal and lesser PvE activities will not feel the affect, as much. A shotgun buff would be nice, but it hasn't been a major disaster.

21 Replies2.0 purpose is to burn down the y1 house. All balancing has been done with y2 in mind. So what does that mean? That means for this current week we're all in a state of limbo. We cannot possibly truly test 2.0 until we are using weapons 2.0 was built around. The burning down the house is in reference to nerfing every single y1 popular weapon. They want us disgusted with black hammer, they want us to throw that thing away asap. I can understand the tactic they are deploying but I am not saying I support it.

5 RepliesI don't know, today I soloed the nightfall. Granted it's one of the better ones for soloing, but it's the 1st time I've ever done it, my guns seemed to be just fine.

It sucks about the ammo perks but for real it doesn't make that big a difference I still use all those guns without fail still gets the job done regardless
