Looks like I won't be playing Destiny for some time. PSN is so bad that it will take me 128 f%$ing minutes to download the 8GB update!!! And that timer counts upwards!!!!! How is that even acceptable service?!! I have 6.9mbps download speed but my PS3 will suddenly only get 3.7 (at best) on the "almighty" PSNetwork. Thanks Sony!
I guess I won't bother for a while...
PS - Bungie, you might want to do something about this because I am not the only one!
I have pre-ordered TTK too so guess I won't be able to play that for some time either!

Bungie can't do anything about it buddy? There are thousands of people, nay, millions, all downloading at once, plus anybody else using your internet eating up bandwidth, plus the whooping size of the DlC. Tips: Close all tabs possible on all devices using your internet connection (especially YouTube/Twitch etc). Grab a book. Breathe. Read for a few hours and come back. Breathe again. Rinse and repeat. Simples.

It's ridiculous. Should have let us pre load it. But common sense isn't common anymore at Bungievision.

A million other people are downloading it too The world does not revolve around you

Right like maybe I can play Destiny sometime this week.

PSN doesn't host the updates for games those are stored on the CDN's - content delivery network providers like Akamai and others. So your software developer makes said software has Microsoft and Sony verify said content, than those console networks link to the CDN's and proxy your software installs via the CDN's. Right now - Microsoft has leveraged rights to 40% of all the internets CDN bandwidth to deliver Windows 10 for free as a patch upgrade. So in the remaining 60% is all your Java updates, Adobe updates, AV definition updates, and Intelligent Ad delivery and analytics- along with a small portion of space for "Game Software updates."

The Best Destiny Experience on PS4* *We just pay a lot of money for stupid stuff even when Xbox would be a better pick for the "Best Experience"
Exclusivity it's stupid point
Edited by SunlightHeart: 9/9/2015 12:20:30 AMNot really PSNs fault. This happens on every platform when something is mass downloaded. I left my PS4 on rest, got a good queue spot and downloaded it in about 45 minutes.

Edited by Rho'gath: 9/8/2015 9:37:45 PMI'm on PS4 with 90mb/s download speed on my internet and it's still apparently going to take me 72hrs to do a 17.66gb update for Destiny

That's not psn, that's Bungie's servers being overwhelmed by traffic.
