New Destiny Purchase, Can Not Install, 20GB XBox360 Bought a copy of Destiny on disc today for my XBox 360, but I cannot get it to install. I have an XBox 360 (20GB internal HD and 32GB USB HD) I cleared absolutely everything off the internal HD because I was having install issues, and so I have 13GB free on the internal HD and 17.5GB free on the external USB HD. I tried installing both to the internal HD and directly to the external HD (which had 31GB free at the time I tried this). I also tried both Bungie and Activision's technical support articles. I have tried following the articles here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/13478 and here: https://support.activision.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/Transferring-Destiny-Files-from-Hard-Drive-to-USB-Storage-Device-on-Xbox-360 The problem seems to be that the game does not download or install the Compatibility Packs in order. I did at one point manage to get it all installed, but got Error Code: "Boar" and could not resolve so I deleted everything and started from scratch... I have now spent about 7.5 hours trying to get this game to install. I work in IT, so I am pretty certain the issue is not one of technical incompetence on my end. Bungie, you sold me this game, what do I do? Please help. (Also note: I did check the Storage Requirements here: https://www.destinythegame.com/size-requirementsbefore purchase. This both verified that 10GB was adequate storage space for game updates, and that it is possible to use a USB External HD to install the game when using a disc. I had 31GB of the required 30GB free on my USB External HD when I first tried to install the game.)

Seriously, it's been over four months now since the release and I still can't update this game without getting an error message? Nothing has been fixed in all that time? I have more than enough room on my PS3's HD, and I've zero interest in getting a PS4. I was rather enjoying the game and even planned on getting the expansions but now I'm glad I didn't waste any more money on it. I was going to recommend it to several of my friends so we could play together, but now I will be telling them to steer clear of it. This is absolute b/s and I should get a refund from Bungie, not just for the time and bandwidth I've wasted but for selling a product that doesn't even work.

I've just downloaded the game to my PS4, entered the application and now it says that the game is installing. What's so surprising is that it is stuck on 0.16 GB for an hour. That's pretty weird, especially for a new console... What should I do? :O Edit: The game installation was fixed successfully. Unfortunately, the disc was scratched, that is why the installation stopped.

(Shakin my head) i used to think all those peple sayin f bungie were haters but now with them leaving the whole community of players in the dark its starting to become true i cant get a 5 gb download done and ive been trying since forever ( why does it take this much space any way theres already an 8 gb update ) anyway it would be nice to onow they are working on something but all these comments kinda doesnt seem like they care anymore id like to enjoy the game because im a year 1 player and respect the game but how can i play if they dont give us respect back by helping us as a vommunity shame on you destiny i thought u were better than that

I'm a PS3 user and I recently bought a pre-owned Destiny game from a pawn shop (the back and front of the disc were flawless with no scratches or rings on it). I put the game in my console and it took a good minute to load up and install. After that screen went off, it brought me to the main screen that says "press x to continue". It then took me to a pop-up that said I had to agree to some stuff and I did. THEN I got to the real problem.. It took me to a screen titled "Installing Destiny" and under neath that are two things loading that say "Transferring Game Content...?.??/5.96 GB In Progress" and underneath that was "Installing Update...whatever". The update installed pretty quickly and disappeared but the "Transferring Game Content" load stayed for a while. After about 4 hours of being out of the house I come back to the transferring game content back on 45%. So I sat and watched it... And watched it.... And watched it. Finally it was getting towards the end and it said 98% complete... then went back to 0% and started going up again. I've watched it do this about 7 times now after rebuilding my whatever in safe mode and also resetting my cache(I think that's what it was) in safe mode. It hasn't fixed my problem at all and after 2 weeks of trying to find some help and writing to Bungie, I can't find anything to help me online and Bungie obviously just doesn't care because they've received everybody's money. So if anyone here might've been going through the same thing I am and figured out how to get through it and actually play the game, I would very much appreciate it if you shared your method with me. This has actually become quite annoying and I'm about ready to give up on the game so thanks for any advice and help! Edit: Something I forgot to add is I've tried downloading this both on wifi and connecting it to my modem but it has the same outcome:nothing. My service has 100MB of high speed internet so it's definitely not the service that's a problem.

everytime i goto download update i get oooops something bad happened and then it tries to redownload to which xbox 360 then crashes everytime.

Bungie, I'm having trouble with the " TRANSFERING game content" I have been sitting on 59% percent side oct. 24 ( 5:00 pm) since yesterday was my birthday my parent decided that the would get me the new Xbox 1 console and destiny ttk.Well you see this poor ,poor,poor service and how you guys have responded to not one of these faithful destiny players, I've decided to mostlikely sell or return my copy of the game because im not one to support the people who don't help or even pay attention to the consumers of their product.

1 ReplyI had the same problem, got TTK, had to download it all but, installation stopped at 91%.. Deleted everything, redownload.. Happened again!!! But! I right clicked it, chose try reinstall again, before it comes with error saying "installation stopped" PAUSE! Now when you choose resume, hopefully it will start downloading again!! Mine is going again, hopefully doesn't stop again.

i've tried to get the 2.0 update for almost a month now, im really frustrated, you guys left us in the dark, no effing response, not even a "we're working on it" NOTHING. i really really love destiny, but this is unacceptable.

Bungie clearly doesn't care that there are still a ton of users unable to play since the 2.0 update or the TTK release. They're ignoring the forum, so let's all let them know how we feel using 1-star Amazon reviews warning potential buyers that they may never get to play the game they're paying for.

still cant f*cking update to 2.0. every time i try download the update it gives me error 800233EF. This is on Ps3. ive tried everything. Plz help ;(

The 2.0 update actually installed last night on my 360, so everyone who is having issues still should retry. This is exactly what I did: 1. Give up on Destiny and install Bioshock 2 from back when it was free with gold. 2. After Bioshock downloads, decide on a whim to retry installing 2.0 because you don't feel like actually playing anything right away 3. Delete desitny completely, clear system cache. 4. Remove disc, restart machine. 5. Insert disc, load game, wait for download and install. 6. Hold breath as game loads and you can actually see your characters again It's not perfect. Accessing the menu takes about 45 seconds and when you try to view the perks on weapon or armor, a lot of times they don't load. I know the menu loads slow on 360, but it was never this bad. Every time I entered a new area it would load for about 30 seconds, which is new. There were only a few areas that had a loading delay previously. I'm going to try installing the game from the disc to see if it helps. Good luck, guardians.

2 Repliesoh my goodness this crap is really pissing me off its so damn sad that BUNGIE doesnt even care enough to tell people that they are looking into it, i guess they really dont give a crap about the community, i thought they would be nothing without the community and that we are the reason they do what they do, so stop worrying about shaders and crap like that, get to fixxing the actual game first.

BUNGIE: can u give me one reason to keep "trying"? Or one reason to keep my copy of Destiny at all for that matter????? UPDATE: finally got 2.0!!! Took my console to my sisters & used her ISP and it worked!! I posted a thread with an apology to Bungie.

Omg the real -blam!-ing problem people are having is that ounce again bungie didn't have their shit together for release day and now you have a sinking boat full a problems and you guys are wanting to help people install a broken update...get ur -blam!-ing shit together bungie you are falling apart now...people are burning their games because you guys -blam!-ed them over. Here's and idea close the -blam!- server and do a -blam!-ing server maintenance refresh and go through the problems that per are having its not like you guys will loose any money because you already butt -blam!-ed the shit out of your customers with another broken dlc.

76 hours later and we're all still in this thread reporting the same issues. Bungie has admitted that there are download and install problems but has only really commented on missing emblems and shaders. To the people still trying to actually download the updates, if you manage to get them to download, they still may not install. Mine download and then I get a disc read error.

- Xbox One; - 100mbit fiber optic internet connection; - Started the download at about 5:30PM (GMT+1) yesterday; - I kept my Xbox always on since then; - This morning at 8:39AM was at 19%; - Today at lunch time (13:30PM) was at 55%; - Later, at 16:28PM was at 57%; - When I arrived from work, at 18:30PM, was at 72%; - At this precise moment (20:10) is at 80%; So, after more than 24 consecutive hours I'm still waiting for a mere 18GB download. All my Internet works at the usual super fast speed, theres nothing wrong with my connection. I've made almost 5 hard resets to Xbox, I've cleared the cache almost a dozen times... nothing worked to make the download faster. There's people from my clan that had to restart the download after being stuck at the same percentage for endless hours, just to get stuck again in another part of the download. Sorry Bungie, but this is completely unacceptable. I'm absolutely sure the issue is on your side and it's a real shame this kind of mess.

1 ReplyUdated game yesterday on xbox one in 30mins. Bought taken king ps4 bundle today 12hours to download from install. Download 6.5gb /17.6gb 7 hours to go. So much for having day off work to play the new expac on new console :(

Before you say uninstall and reinstall I have already tried that. Yes I am hard wired to the internet also. Not to mention the fact that I did not get 1/2 the items you said we would get for our money.
