Guardians vs Vault hunters

Vault hunters

535

Guardians

936

Ok, so everything is on the table no handicaps on either side. An equal amount of Guardians (destiny) vs Vault hunters (Borderlands series) at max level with any weapons from their respective games at their disposal. Who wins in a fight? And Rhys, Vaughn, Sasha, and Fiona from tales from the borderlands count too. Any additional info asked for I will add. Keep it civil guys. Edit: Guardians are winning but Charlemagne is the only one giving us a reason why. He has a great point, but he can't be the only one giving us reasons here. C'mon people, we need reasons why guardians win if you think that. 2nd Edit: I moved this to #Gaming to get some more theories.

  • So here is the problem with this: guardians live in a game where items are balanced to have a competitive multiplayer, while in borderlands items are balanced to try and kill random AI as quickly as possible. When you compare the gear and abilities, you find that there is no real competition, as vault hunters are so much more well equipped I'll start with weaponry. The gjallarhorn is currently the most powerful weapon in destiny. It fires a single tracking rocket that splits into many smaller tracking rockets that equate to the damage of another full rocket. The borderlands counterpart, the norfleet, fires three rockets, each with a massive blast radius. These rockets will also ignore walls and cover, as the explosion goes straight through. The norfleet also puts a DoT on any lucky survivors of the initial blast, finishing them off. Continuing on, shotguns in destiny are known for their power in close quarters, but shotguns in borderlands have ranges rivaling destiny snipers. The conference call and interfacer make the felwinters lie look like a pea shooter. To wrap up the guns, vault hunters can also get massive healing buffs from weapons that greatly outclass guardian healing buffs. The red death requires a kill to proc, and the suros only gives a little bit at a time. In borderlands, there are the Moxxi weapons, most notably the grog nozzle. Simply holding the grog nozzle makes it so any damage the vault hunter does returns 50%, essentially making gunzerkers who can hold a grog nozzle and other gun near invincible. Finally, vault hunter grenades are many times better. While an arc bolt can hit a couple of clumped up vault hunters, a chain lightning from borderlands has a much higher chain range and doesn't need a direct hit to start chaining. Lightning grenades are great for zoning in destiny, but the stormfront destroys it with five tesla nades packed in one. Moving on, let's look at the defenses each side has. Guardians have the ward of dawn, and a few over shields that pop up after a melee. Vaulters, on the other hand, have personal shields with various bonuses. A sham shield for instance can absorb 94% of ammo fired at it, including rockets, and return it to the user. The bee adds massive damage so long as it is fully charged, and the list continues. Skill wise, both sets have pretty close to the same amount of power. The difference is that vault hunters have much quicker cool downs and longer periods of activation once used. Nisha for instance gets an aimbot for 6 seconds every 10-15 seconds. Zero throws a decoy and high damage kunai for 5 seconds every 15 seconds. In general, the vaulters would be kill off the guardians faster than they could even earn their supers. Speaking of killing, what happens when each side dies? A guardian becomes an orb that requires a teammate to come revive, unless they have a self res charged, in which case they use that and are up immediately. Vaulters continue the fight while downed, standing back up after killing someone or being revived by a teammate. Vaulters can be revived from a distance by maya and her res abillity, allowing her to use her action skill to pick up teammates from an unlimited distance away so long as she has a line of sight. Some vaulters get special modes while downed, such as kreigs light the fuse where he runs around throwing dynamite at enemies until his timer runs out, when he blows up the whole bundle potentially picking himself up. In conclusion, the guardians didn't stand a chance, as they were outgunned, poorly equipped, and not given the time to charge their supers. I apologize for any spelling/grammar mistakes, as I am a human. Rant over
