What's the difference between Halo 2 BR and Halo 3 BR?
I'm picking up Halo 2 soon, I was just wondering, since everyone talks about it, what's the difference between Halo 2 BR and Halo 3 BR?

ok heres what i've seen so far h3 br sux its like a pistol, h2 br was a sniper! (both do essentially the same damage) wtf spread? wow now h3 takes no skill! i 4 shot kidz all dai in halo 2 leading ur shots? wow noob that takes no skill! here's my take on this. i play halo 3 with bumper jumper. i have a good BR, but not the best for sure. i went to halo 2 cuz i felt like playing it. i was 4 shoting kids like a pro, it was insane. that tells me that halo 3 BR takes more skill because its harder to kill people with. and how does leading your shots not take skill? i bet ur one of those people who always raise hell when you get out BRd from a long range if u say this. i like halo 2, but the facts say that halo 3's BR is harder to use as effectively. therefore, it is a more skilled weapon.

Halo 2 BR is the pure wrecking machine. Halo 3 is somewhat less with more of a spread and the target lead.

mabey its the user but i think the br in halo3 is the pro weapon and if i 1v1 some1 and dont have a BR they normally will use a noob wepon such as rocets + ov while i go for BR and im tired of it i pwn with the halo3 br and im happy with it u guys who hate it must suck

Halo 2 BR the bullets take no time to reach the target, so you don't need to lead your shots. If you aim at the enemy's head cross-map, you will hit the enemy's head cross-map.

With issues like lag etc a hit scan burst weapon is a neccessity. The halo 2 weapon still wasnt incredibly accurate at long range, and it took 4 HEAD SHOTS to kill every time. Halo 3's BR actually doesnt take more skill to use. If anything it takes less. I do like not having the button glitches though. Halo 3's br needs 110% damage before it even starts to feel as good as the halo 2 BR did....and halo 2's gameplay was so much more fast paced and intense. Part of this is that halo 2 has about 112% of the speed of halo 3. The whole entire game with the exception of a few weapons (human sniper, carbine, needler) was nerfed down. Look at the AR, look at the plasma pistol, look at the regular pistol. All Nerfed. Well guess what. Nerf guns suck. [Edited on 05.25.2009 3:19 PM PDT]

Halo 2 BR had a better spread and auto aim then the halo 3 BR. I take the H2 BR over the H3 BR any day.

well, the BR in halo 2 is close to a sniper rifle but in halo 3 the BR is like a pistol as in it's weak. the halo 2 BR is way better.

2 of the 3 shots from the Halo 3 BR have a slightly random spread. Halo 2 does not, but you don't have to lead shots. I never found shot leading to be a measure of skill tho.

The Halo 3 BR has a lot less bullet magnetism, it's harder to use, the spread doesn't make that big of a difference.

halo 2 br, you dont have to aim as much. or lead shots or even get near their face for a head shot. you could BXR you could BXRB, you could BXR auto reload to shoot 3-4 bursts + a full clip(it realoads on the 3rd-4th burst and you get a full clip.)
