Grimoire score, what does it mean to you?
So recently I started to see players that are looking for a guardian with let's say like 3000 + Grimoire score, and I have been playing destiny ever since the Beta phase and have a "low" Grimoire score simply because I put a lot of my time on the crucible, but I watch like videos about the raids and how to actually do them so I'm not an idiot and need varying when I do raids and stuff like that, so my score isn't determining my skill here as I do know what to do and am experienced with Destiny.
Why do people make a high Grimoire score as a requirement and what does it determine?

High grimoire correspons to well rounded experience. - dead ghosts: exploring the map - crucible score: using various classes,playing different games (pity there's no crucible for vehicles) - weapon types...says it all, how to play with all kinds of weapons. Yeah, there are ranks that are pretty pointless... like grinding up to rank 3 on sidearms. But basically, your grimoire will go up the longer you play, and the more varied your experience with the game. Right now, my grimoire goes up because I'm bored waiting for TTK...
