A player can have all beta emblems, but given up playing at launch and missed all of year one. Simply playing the beta doesn't make them a veteran. The level cap was 8 and we were locked to 2-3 zones on the earth for the most part. The moments of triumph emblem will be the official way to distinguish a veteran during year two because they would have completed both raids on hard, skolas, patrols, found all gold chests, and played what Bungie considers the minimum requirement to be experienced in crucible.
