I was extremely excited to finally get my Boots of Eao, but then i unlocked the perk and was devastated! Something didnt feel right. I walked my guardian over to a giant sized door with the intention of measuring the height of the additional jump. I was horrified to find my jumps had been nerfed while wearing the boots. I felt gut-punched. My bladedancer's new jump height matched almost identically compared to without the boots, while the gunslinger's fourth jump added what looked like two feet at the most. Why would i want to push the jump one additional time to get to the same height. Even worse is the fact that these boots are Exotic! While wearing these shiny fool's gold, i cannot wear any other Exotic armor. My verdict, useless and VERY disappointing.
edit* thanks all for the feedback. my "testing" was not thorough at all. new verdict, not useless at all, slightly disappointing.
edit* after trying them out as recommended in other situations and areas i like them much better. still not all i hoped for but i definitely threw a tantrum too early. i thank you all for your feed back... except that guy that made the cancer comment, lol that wasn't very useful.

5 RepliesI use them too. And they're the most fantastic boots ever. They have saved my butt too many times to count :p I never noticed any jumping difference, I was in golden gun for the two jumps, and then when I went back to bladedancer with the boots on I didn't notice any difference? I guess I can see why. Next time I get on I'll check for myself.

4 RepliesGunslinger doesn't get a fourth jump

You're not gonna hitting supermario wingcap heights, but those boots give alot of reach. This thread is now about all the invisible ceilings we hit our heads on trying to jump somewhere.

Try using "higer jump" instead of "better control", and make your agility ≥ armor with your recovery minimal. You should notice a massive difference.

5 RepliesEdited by Chief Bill 13: 9/7/2015 6:28:54 AMYou definitely get more height. Without the boots you can't jump high enough to reach the top of the tower in Crota (on Bladedancer) or the spot to hurt hidden left in VoG during oracles. You just gotta time the jumps right.

It helps in that u can change direction in mid air an additional time. Even if it doesn't help much in terms of height, it can help because u have more control over your character whilst in the air.

They are the best way to stay alive as a Hunter in the Urrox fight. Ran 34 POE this weekend, as soon as I put them on I didn't die because of the ground fire a single time.

2 RepliesYay, "gain an additional jump". I never understood why some were so excited about these. I levelled them up then shelved them for good. No boots will ever compete with Nighthawk or Khepri's or Symbiote or Don't Touch or 3rd Man or... Additional jump, woo!

2 RepliesMore for jumping gaps then for height Hunter jump is why I don't play mine

1 ReplyWhile I can't say you're wrong (there might be a slight nerf to the height) I do know you can still jump higher with them on than without them. Not to mention the length of the jump you can get with a quadruple jump as gunslinger.

I love the boots of Eao. Go to the cosmodrome and in the starting area there are two buildings, stand on the smaller one and use your basic jumps to get you to the roof of the larger one (the one all the mobs run out of with the loot stairs inside.) try all of your basic jumps and notice how you can land just about on or around the middle of the building this way. Then use your blade dancer and boots of Eao and notice how extremely easy it is to jump almost to the other side of the roof and how cool that is! Next, use gunslinger and triple jump and jump completely over said building :) been there done it hope this makes you a bit happier!

1 ReplyThey work great for the higher double jump perk, not sure about the directional double jump or triple jump perks.
-
1 ReplyI get a lot more hight with them.
-
1 ReplyIts for distance homie. Triple higher jump is a lot higher than regular higher jump.
-
3 RepliesWrong

1 ReplyIt might be an iD-10t issue. Its surpisingly common. Mine seem to work great for both blade dancer and gunslinger, and i'm reaching new places with ease because of them.

1 ReplyEdited by ToughGuy051: 9/7/2015 5:14:21 AMWell if it sucks height wise does it at least add more horizontal movement? Can you at least jump farther? If it loses in both hieght and distance than yes it sucks. Funny i got them too yesterday. Leveling them up now. They look so cool. Hope there not too bad.

1 ReplyLol its your -blam!-ing jump height in a video, its not like you got cancer or something.
-
They are awesome. And work fine. Triple jump is sweet. I can reach higher points I couldn't before and I loooove it
-
2 RepliesI always assumed they were meant for distance and airtime. I wouldn't have thought the height would be very significant. I guess now I know.
-
1 ReplyI don't use them for hight i use them for control in the air. Try running them with the Upgrade Control perk on your double jump i love being able to switch directions mid jump
