If they don't buy TTK then they'll be lv34 anyway and still be able to complete any year one end-game content! So that's stooping to a new low? Anyone who doesn't buy it shouldn't have ANY of the content from TTK, which includes a higher character level lol
Getting sloppy brah!

Edited by RaiseRentForSingleMothers: 9/6/2015 7:58:30 PMCan we acknowledge that Gearbox also put up a payment wall for leveling from 50-72 in Borderlands 2 and prevented you from getting any new stuff unless you bought the new content? I love the game but it happened there as well. You can't expect to get more powerful for free. I agree btw but just putting this here.
-
And so does WoW, FFXIV and the old Republic used to before it became subscription free! I don't know any game that allows you any new access for free, unless the game was free to begin with, and even then I know that lots of free games make you pay to upgrade or whatever!
-
Well Destiny does with Vendor gear and in TDB and HoW you were able to reach max w/o DLC. Granted it took longer but still. A perfect example of pay to win is Planetside(not sure if they still do it) but it was free to play but if you wanted to win you had to pay or grind to a point of burning out.
-
No mate you're wrong, in TDB you could get one level below max, and in HoW, they let players get to max level through etheric light! But clearly Bungie and me see eye to eye, because now without purchasing year two, you can't, it's amazing how many freeloaders are on here! I can't understand how people think it's okay to have the same access to something when one person has had to pay for it and the other hasn't! There is literally nothing else in the world that would do this so why are people expecting it here?
-
Actually IB allowed you to reach max level in TDB. It took a long time but you could.

Okay you're right and hey maybe in like two or three years time anyone who doesn't want to pay for Destiny but still wants to do nightfalls, well they just might make it to level 40 and be able to! But then again, you'll probably need to be lv50+ by then...

-
that's fine but did gearbox remove anything from the base game and make it only accessible by buying dlc.
-
Edited by RaiseRentForSingleMothers: 9/6/2015 9:24:44 PMIs this over removing wolves? Something that died after we couldn't farm chests anymore. Borderlands had no events that could be removed. If it's gear or loot, in Borderlands you could find common guns that out classed legendaries within minutes or a few missions whether you wanted them or not.
-
i never mentioned wolves i was talking about activities in game from the start of borderlands were they removed.
-
No but nothing from Destiny or the DLCs is being removed. Only the patrol events and maybe quests that allows you to get gear that won't even be relevant or useful in TTK.
-
and the weekly and nightfall which have been in the game since the beginning will likely be locked at to those who don't buy the taken king.
-
But that's not physically removing content. An example of this would be Bungie removing strikes or all the story missions. That is locking out.
-
Lol I use thorn so perfect

Spoken like a true, selfish child.

Edited by Roaszhak: 9/6/2015 6:24:28 PMHow is it selfish, you don't pay for it, you don't get it? I hate this self-absorbed attitude that most people seem to have where they should be ENTITLED to something just because, would you get a house without having a mortgage? Would you get a car without paying for it? Nothing in life is free and people like lost sols who are arguing that someone who doesn't pay for TTK should have access to any part of that DLC is atrocious at best, at worst it's down right cheeky! And -blam!- off with your spoilt child bullshit, that argument is childish in itself!
-
Seriously, man. Instead of defaulting to butthurt, maybe try think about more than yourself. This game wasn't made just for you. I'm not here to spell things out for you.
-
Dude butthurt? I'm not the OP, I'm not the one moaning because I'm not getting something I want, I'll be playing TTK and nightfalls and raids and all the other stuff because I paid for it! When did I hint that I want the game for me? I just don't like freeloaders or cheap people, people who cry over $40, which in England is like £27, that's two hours at work and it's bought and paid for, which is absolutely nothing!
-
I'm well aware you aren't Sols. He's a cool dude. You're a petulant child. Goodbye petulant child. Muted for being a petulant child.
-
he's not saying people who don't buy the dlc should have access to all dlc content but nightfalls and weeklies were apart of that content before the taken king i'm not saying they should get to do all the strikes but maybe the strikes from the original game or the dlc they did buy like dlc free nightfalls and weekly playlists. so if people don't want to buy more or are on the fence about buying the taken king they can still play the endgame nightfalls while they wait to decide or when there is a discount or whatever.
-
Thank you. I didn't realize some people needed it spelled out in crayon.
-
Nightfalls and Weekly strikes have upgraded with the evolution of the game, so they're part of TTK, if you didn't buy HoW or TDB you wouldn't be able to do a nightfall now, it's not a right for someone to have it just because it came out in the original game, it moved with the current edition! Anyone who doesn't purchase TTK will be able to do VoG and Crota's End, play some crucible and do some vanguard strikes, if they're not willing to cough up the money they don't get the updated aspects of the game! I know what he means and it's wrong, it's wrong to let people on the fence or whatever have anything that isn't bought and paid for, and, the nightfall is now part of TTK, that's nothing new as I said, it upgraded with the other DLCs and it should always be that way!
-
That's the definition of removing content and putting it behind a paywall.
-
Which I haven't disagreed with, I think it's completely right that Bungie stops people from being able to do the same things that I can when I've paid! Well done you've paid for the old content, but then if you go and buy Pokemon Black or White, can you do anything but the basic game? Nope, because newer versions have come out and they're not willing to allow people who don't update a free ride! That's just one example, there aren't many online games that do allow you to keep the old game completely intact and still interact with the players who have purchased the new content, but I just don't see how that is or could be a problem for anyone?
