So what you're saying is you want to walk past where the invisible wall is and fall infinitely until you restart the game? There is nothing there. That huge wall in the Cosmodrome? That's a picture. That maze in the Black Garden? Picture. The City below the Tower? Picture. With small exceptions such as the planes in the distance of Mothyards, all the extra stuff you see in the game, all that beautiful stuff is simply artwork. The rest is undeveloped, unrefined models placed on a picture used to represent a texture that isn't even there. Watch videos of people getting out of the map and you'll release all this. It's a little heartbreaking, realizing its fake. But that's what it all is. It's just a game.

  • Except you get right up next to the wall in multiple places in the Cosmodrome, and you travel through part of that maze in the Black Garden. I'm aware that most of the far-off scenery is just background details/skybox. But yeah.

  • https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/143412827/0/0 Go to about 2:20 on the video. It was actually designed as all playable space. Though I do understand what you're saying. They could have dumbed down certain physics and features and negated collision detection with models outside the map but we know it's possible from the demo Bungie advertised.

  • Honestly I'm not all that disappointed in the world's. Could it have been better? Yes. Much much better. But people spend so much time soarrowing from point A to point B that they don't notice all the details. That being said, alot of these details are in hallways between zones that never got used. I can imagine cutscenes or enemy interactions in these areas but they just don't happen and it doesn't make sense. Destiny leaves almost too much to the imagination. You see all this beautiful stuff but its all ruined and unused and it makes you think "what if" to the point that it's heartbreaking each and every time you realize that all this stuff will never be used. The world just seems so dead. It's like the opposite of GTAV

  • 100% agreed. I've mentioned that I hope the Dreadnought does not follow this route. When I walk through it, I want to see Thrall and dark creatures scaling the walls. See armies of Hive and Taken marching and prepping for war in the distance. Bungie created some beautiful landscapes but now they just need "life" to make it really come alive and feel immersive.

  • The missions look more cinematic so that's cool (really cool) but yeah, some liveliness to the patrols would be so great. Some guardian ships flying above, stuff like that.

  • Hopefully. We know Activision is amazing at advertising games haha. I do hope Bungie goes back and injects content into the already current worlds also. Wouldn't mind seeing more interactive AI on Patrols. Maybe some Fallen ships patrolling by on Earth every now and then. See some Fallen and Hive fights in the distance. Hell, I would like to see the Mothyards get invaded by a faction. Have a large scaled battle between Hive and Fallen would be awesome. It doesn't even need any real tough programming. Just create some spawn points for ships and units and drop off at certain location and the AI does the rest. But if Bungie wouldn't mind going out of their way, they can do something even more dynamic ;)
