Legendary was easy, but for some reason the metagame achievement was incredibly hard. Anyways, try retreating back towards the entry, near the flipped truck. If you go far enough, the wraith de-spawns (I'm not so sure about the brutes). P.S. The cave mouth disappears.

I never understood why there never was an achievement for passing the game on solo. Back on topic....Some pointers? - Go for headshots - Try to always shoot at one target instead of different Brutes or Grunts. - In that same area, before you bunker down for the invading Brutes, there is a sniper above where you entered(after crossing the bridge). - Try to stick them if you can - Aim for the Brutes on jetpacks, they tend to go around - After you kill the "wave of Brutes" grab ammo stickies, even dual weapons for back up - Drop 2 mines on one spot. On Legendary they damage them, not kill them, a good grenade throw will kill a brute with the mines. Hope that helps out a bit... Activating skulls will also help but then you have to restart the level.

plasma pistol vs wraith, brutes, choppers, everything else = win.

What I did on my main account was I took my two (2) controllers and did the campaign on co-op by myself. YES BY MYSELF. I took the unoccupied controller and hid him wherever enemies couldn't find him. That way every time I died, I would respawn in a safe area and I wouldn't have to go to the last checkpoint. As I progressed into the level, I moved my unoccupied guy into spots closer to the fighting. Good luck!

Tsavo Highway is incredibly hard by yourself on Legendary. Especially if you're trying to make it through the Marine Outpost, which is about 4-5 waves plus a Wraith. Almsot impossible with the supplies you got. Throughout the level, laod your Marines with Fuel Rod Guns you can pick up from ALL the dead Brutes, they annihilate anything and can even destroy those Phantoms.
Posted by: Parcheeseey
Posted by: papman12 It's basically impossible solo, have a friend help you, one guy snipes, the other guy charges.
It's NOT impossible i beat it solo on legendary in like 45mins
me too, it was simple.
-
There's a sniper rifle up on top of the thing where the pipe is above the bridge. Grab its ammo and shoot the Brutes in the face.
-
a grav lift is inside the buildings with tripmines right before the bridge, you can use it to jump a hog over the gap if you want

Dude, I meant that as a compliment.

Well you can always change the zoom level in your internet window

You have to use stickies, and be good at dodging things. That is one of the hardest Legendary levels, but it's not impossible.
Posted by: COMAMDANTEELITE I beat the game alone in legendary, what you can do is equip your Marines with the fuel rod cannon of the dead brutes in legendary you will face like 4 brutes with that weapon before arriving to the bridge, try to keep your marines alive and wipe out most of the enemies with a beam rifle, take off all the snipers first, then the mayor brutes, always change the beam rifle for a new one you'll need it a lot, after you take out some enemies try to get closer by your own, leaving all you marines inside the troop Hog in a safe place take out some grunts and brutes as tou can before you run out of ammo, then ram into battle with the troop hog against the remaining Brutes but don't try to splatter them, surround them while driving and your marines will be able to shoot at them and wipe them out, that's before the bridge. After the bridge when you have to abandon your hog, try to be the very first one on to fight the brutes, your marines will arrive on time to help you with the fuel rod cannons you gave to themafter you take out some brutes make sure that you don't have any enemies coming from the left side, sometimes there are grunts throwing plasma grenades and those grunts can wipe out your marines, try to help the other marines on the high ground and give them some weapons like a sniper rifle (you will find some heavy weapons on the little base on top of the little hill) if you and you mrines survive to the first wave the rest will be easy, your marine will take out all the phantoms specially if you gave them the rod guns and the rocket launcher that arrive just watch out for the jump pack brutes and the chieftains that survived to the phantoms explosionyou can hijack a Wraith to wipe out the rest of the brutes or pick up a plasma pistol, stop the wraith and take out the chieftain's shields, but don't destroy the wraith it'll be quite helpfull against the choppers, after you take the wraith let your marines take the warthogs and the heavy weapons, alway go ahead with the wraith and in the last part take out everithing from the distance it will take some time but you'll be safe, after you take all the choppers and wraiths keep going with your marines in the back. If you keep advancing like this the rest of the enemies near the end of the level will be quickly destroyed. Hope this info helps you to finish the level.
Sorry but your wall of text just blinded me...and i already have seviere vision problems!
Posted by: yugor1000 Just. Haul. Ass. Thats all you need to do. The only fights you need to fight are the two Wraiths at the top of the cliff, and the end fight.
I concur.

Wow really? This has to be one of the easiest levels to beat on legendary, i beat on my first try without breaking a sweat. The only level that you really need Co-op for is cortana, unless you enjoy statring at a TV screen for 2+ hours
Posted by: XxExpungexX BTW halo 2 legendary is significantly harder. I thought halo 3 legendary was kind of easy
EDIT: For sure, Halo 3's legendary was pathetic compared to Halo 2's [Edited on 05.02.2009 4:18 PM PDT]
sure you did buddy sure you did
Believe what you want, I don't care. But when I got my 360 back in October 2007, I wasn't able to connect to Live until 7 months later. So I played the story constantly, over and over again. SLASO was always a challenge. Tsavo, Cortana and Floodgate were the only missions I ever could do like that.
-
Take everything step by step Never rush If you want to try something impossible try halo 2s level "gravemind" on legendary. Thats impossible BTW halo 2 legendary is significantly harder. I thought halo 3 legendary was kind of easy. [Edited on 05.02.2009 4:11 PM PDT]

I did it solo and it was pretty hard....just play on co-op.
-
I did it with alot of skulls on Its not that hard just try to escort as many marines as u can to that spot and make sure u equip them with every sniper rocker fuel rod u can find and kill every brute with a brute shot...he's the only one who can wipe out every marine with 2 shots
