Destiny players logic -
Join crota raid, get to crota "who's running sword?" Everyone says I dunno how or I'm not good. So I choose to run sword.
Beat Crota down everyone is happy.
Over hear one of the guys say "man those swords look awesome, can't wait to use them"
The -blam!-!? You just had me run sword because you ain't good at it and now your saying you can't wait for swords?! Arghhhhh!!

He can't wait for swords that he can use to rek dregs in patrol, not use swords and practice timing to defeat crota. Lol [spoiler]happened to me the other day. Friends doing crota while I'm doing bounties and crucible. About to log of and get an invite. Check and see they are still doing crota...switch to hunter for easy mode and join only to see 2 hunters in the lobby like what the BLAM? Lol[/spoiler]

Well, then they'd just be equipping swords for fun, rather than being relied on to finish a raid. Besides, we already know that year 2 swords will be very different from year 1 swords.

No ground slam or air dashing on the equipable swords and blocking so very different than relics

Running crota sword is different. You need to know when to attack and when to stop attacking him and people like me arent very good at it

call rockets and jump straight away. Ground slam 2 times (3 if your feeling lucky) and get out the way for the next round of rockets. It REALLY isnt hard.
