[quote]A Florida police department is outraged after an Arby’s employee refused to serve one of their officers simply because the officer was a cop.
A Pembroke Pines police officer went through the drive-through of a local Arby’s around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, but when the officer pulled up, one employee refused service.
“I don’t have the exact quote, but something was said to the effect of ‘We don’t want to serve you because you’re a police officer'” Pembroke Pines Major and Public Information Officer Carlos Bermudez told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
A different employee took over and gave the officer the food, but the officer decided to go in and complain to the manager. The manager gave the officer a refund, but the chief still reached out to the corporate office to complain.
“Their CEO and senior VP of operations contacted our chief and apologized for the incident and said they would address the matter,” Bermudez told TheDCNF.
Bermudez wouldn’t “speculate” as to whether the refusal of service was part of a larger anger towards the police after several highly publicized incidents of questionable police conduct, such as in Ferguson or Baltimore.
“I am offended and appalled that an individual within our community would treat a police officer in such a manner. It is unacceptable, and I will be contacting the Arby’s CEO to demand an apology,” PPPD Chief Dan Giustino said in a statement.

Are people this ignorant that they blame all cops for the actions of a very, very small minority?

That's really dumb that the employee did that. But also, the cop doesn't really gain anything from the CEO of Arby's giving them an apology. The CEO didn't disrespect the cop, and it would not change what happened.

>Gay person refused service nation in an uproar >Cop refused service everybody asks why he's complaining

23 RepliesTo be fair, a refusal of service is probably the best thing you can get at Arby's.
-
When you get a job at Arby's, you aren't getting paid to make lofty moral decisions. You go and you cook what can technically be called food. That's it.
-
Maybe it's because they are protecting the unarmed black men in there

4 RepliesThe daily caller is skimping on the details. It was the manager who got fired, and the employee in question is on a two day suspension with pay. According to the employee in question he said he couldn't help her due to helping others and the manager allegedly "joked" he can't help you because you're a cop.

8 RepliesReally? The employee was basically just participating in a peaceful protest. He got his food and a refund, why is the department still whining about it? Also bad cops are not a minority. All officers engage in unethical behaviors because they ALL enforce unjust laws.

Good. I hope that employee gets fired

24 RepliesAs far as I'm aware all cops are state servants and they all consciously chose to do the state's bidding, therefore they are immoral. Obviously the Arby's employee saw this and decided she wouldn't serve him on ethical grounds.

33 RepliesHow many apologies does the cop want? She refused service, said it was because he's a cop. Her coworker immediately took over and served him. He spoke to the manager, who immediately dismissed that employee, right there on the spot. And apologized. Now the cop is going to corporate? Why? To get yet another apology and a third confirmation that she acted outside corporate policy?

Cops r people just like everyone. They make mistakes just like everyone else. I don't see why people r getting mad over a few cops making mistakes. They need to respect cops.

I put my Walkman on and said, 'I might as well kick it'. First class, yo this is bad Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass. Is this what the people of Bel-Air living like? Hmmmmm this might be alright. But wait I hear they're prissy, bourgeois, all that Is this the type of place that they just send this cool cat? I don't think so I'll see when I get there I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air Well, the plane landed and when I came out There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out I ain't trying to get arrested yet I just got here I sprang with the quickness like lightning, disappeared I whistled for a cab and when it came near The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror If anything I could say that this cab was rare But I thought 'Nah, forget it' - 'Yo, home to Bel Air' I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo home smell ya later' I looked at my kingdom I was finally there To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

Maybe the guy was trying to do the cop a favor. He was actually looking out for the well being of the police officer because he knows what he did to that food.

Jon Stewart would love this headline! "Arby's, we're the food is bad and the service is worse!"
