To everyone hoarding 5k bounties
If you are holding 10 5k bounties so you can power level to 40 on day 1, you better not come back to the forums and complain about finishing all the content as soon as possible. No one is going to feel sorry for you. ..

Edit 1: Clarification on completed bounties would be good
Edit 2: This post is not saying that the act of doing this is wrong. This post is saying that people who do this shouldn't complain if they fly through content and have nothing to do by the end of the month.
Edit 3: I'm not saying that hoarding is wrong. I'm saying that it is going to create whiners.

So yes, I will stock up for my characters to hit 40 and max subclass in a day since I have other obligations. That way I don't fall behind if I can't get back on until Saturday or something. And it will feel pretty good to be one of the only 40's struttin through the tower. (Hopefully with a sword and some raid gear when the raid is out.) [spoiler]10 - 5k Bounties on 2 characters 6 - Public Event Packages (I gave up on those) on 2 characters 100 - Focused Light Almost 200 Vanguard Rep - both characters [/spoiler] My Hunter and Lock will be done Day 1. Then I'm going to use the Spark (lvl 25 boost) on my Titan, then rank her up with Focused light.

Although isn't destiny really more of an end game thing? Once you do the stories etc it's just repeating nightfalls, raids, strikes etc. So even if they hit 40 first day, there should be enough end game content to last them a while shouldn't there?

I'm saving a few to get a head start on the subclass when I finish the quest. If I'm not at 40 by that point, then that'll be an extra bonus.

Lvling up to 40 only unlocks new content, it's not skipping new content. To each their own. I don't have time to lvl up AND hunt new gear, weapon quests, etc to get my alts powerful enough for the raid on Friday. Any head start I can get now, small or large, while I have nothing to do, just increases my chances at being raid ready when it drops. I have no ill conceived notion that the prep work I'm doing will make my characters insta-40's. I also realize that we have two barriers to entry, lvl 40, AND having proper light level armor n weapons w high enough dmg attack. If I can get a good chunk of the lvl requirement out of the way, I have more time that week to dedicate to "powering up" and not "leveling up".

I really could care less as i need the bounties for nothing else imo. Anyway i never cared if there was story and never wanted to play it. I want to get to max level and START getting the new level 40 gear. Which really wont speed things up out of control, i mean ive been playing for a year with half the content there will be and never complained. Btw this post is useless, despite what you said it makes you seem butt hurt with people who get content faster and "ruin" the surprise. Otherwise whats the point? Not one person was asking for someones sympathy if their bounties dont carry lol. Nor will this have any effect on the complaining lmao. People would complain if this dlc was flawless. Sincerely, The whatever % of players that actually enjoy the game don't hide their distaste for others play styles through super passive aggressive posts like this. Btw its not just you i say this to op, its all the people who are so concerned with people levelling up quick, as if its the source of all of destiny's problems. This has been as issue since tdb for some people.

Saved 30 bounties completed and still have Mars/TDB/HoW to start on my Titan, plus 6 Focused Light and the Exotic Class Items. Plus the fact that I'll have 18 extra bounties from the 2.0 patch. That's around 120,000 XP per character. I'll be 40 on all characters on day-one, with at least half maxed new Subclasses.

Getting level 40 is just step one. Then you have to get legendary gear so you can have a higher light level. Than maybe if you got a decent setup you can try out the new raid on friday

As far as I understand it completed year one bounties will remain in your inventory after 2.0. Incomplete ones will be auto-abandoned
