So we've all seen the articles littering the web about making blink "less good" but does anyone really know what that means?
Side note* I'm 100% pro blink. Combined with current shotgun rolls its...very strong, albeit not broken by itself. Anyone who "hates blink" is probably bad at it, thus the dislike.
But really...
If you increase cooldown time
-after blink 1
This would be awful. Missing a jump you're screwed. Unless we're going to add a jetpack/life cooldown too.
-after blink 2
This just slows gameplay. Doesn't seem to fix a blinker...just makes you be more cautious when you choose too
-nerf distance blink travels
I feel like this again ruins it. This only makes moving around the map tedious and awkward to make normal jumps.
So...yeah that's all I have. How could, and supposedly are they going to nerf blink without ruining it entirely?
Edit*** post 2.0 nerf.
Blink is still just as good. Shotty game is still strong. Lol go Bungie.

I think blink needs to allow only one blink every 3-4 seconds. In the cool down time, it reverts to a shallow double jump.
-
1 ReplyI have *never* used blink in the Crucible and never will. Hardly any of my clanmates use it. It's just not respectable. Not only is it a gap closer, but it helps people get to spots quicker than others, like sniping alleys, for instance.
-
If people stop being so but hurt because they suck to much to stop the blink it wouldn't change so much I hate when people try to make the game simple its PvP its not going to be simple grow a pair and sit down or stop playing
-
Well, i play all classes. And the only class i use shotguns with is titan, I'm very pro sniper. And pro blink, most people hate hearing a blinker at the beginig of a match. But when they see I'm using sniper they're not as upset, I'm afraid that after the"nerf" to blink, out will be un usable. Out that's true then bungee should just beef the BONES OF EAO because the speed of 4 jumps is just as op

Increaee weapon draw by 2.0 seconds Was .9
-
Hope they nerf it into the ground.
-
Oh well, nerf or not, people will flock to Shadestep which will be blink 2.0

4 RepliesThis guy knows whats up, blink in its self is not a problem i think shotguns are stupid and the fact that most primaries have such a low ttk it just adds to the frustration
-
5 RepliesEvery time you blink it makes a loud duck quack and takes your shield down! That should cut back on blink abuse
-
1 ReplyI am curious how its going to happen. Shame i have only recently got used to it with my hunter :(

30 RepliesMost of the people here talking about how overpowered blink is have probably never used it. Blink is not viable in pve because it breaks stealth and takes a max agi build to span more than six meters. However it gets worse, now because some people had their kill streak ended by a blinker they want to take away the only place we can still use it and actually enjoy it. The Titans and Warlocks already have so many gimmicks that give them an advantage and us Hunters haven't gone crying to Bungie. For example: One hit kill melees that don't require you to Solid Snake up on guys ( of which the Titan has two, SC and SFO), supers that when you click two buttons you kill everyone around you, overshields, self revive, and suppression or blinding attacks. In conclusion I just want to point out that EVERYTHING is op from a different perspective don't be such a baby and take away our toys just so yours can be the only ones on the playground.

By increasing the time it takes to get through the animation, and the jump distance.
-
You don't

1 ReplyBlink does not need a nerf in any way shape or form. The blink shotgun needed a nerf and go figure they are nerfing shotguns. The jump in itself already has less distance and less height than the other jumps. Any sort of "taking longer to ready weapons" would have to be rendered to all jumps to be fair. Blink is an offensive jump, that's what it is and nerfing it because people haven't figured out how to counter it and therefore are frustrated by it is ridiculous.
-
They are most likely going to decrease the teleport distance because blink is being abused. Blink was not designed to be a jump, it was designed to be a dodge move and it does that very well. I love blink but I agree with the nerf. Now most of you are going to say then they need to nerf shoulder charge and trust me, I main a Titan and it is not op due to melee shotguns sidearms fusionrifles( yes fusion rifles are annoying) heavy and any super. The only time you can get a kill with it is if your lucky or reallllllllyyyyyy good with it.
-
I would nerf it by only making it usable once a month and only on combined arms maps between the hours of 3am and 4 am. How does that sound?????
-
The Nerf is affecting weapon readying times. This removes blink shot gunning.
-
1 ReplyJust a cooldown on using weapons after a blink, it wont affect its mobility and is thus stil very viable for transportation and defense. This way its offensive capabilities get nerfed, that should work. Thing is, blink is fine as it is, but lag affects it too much. Introduce just a tiny bit of lag and you get people who seem to teleport great distance and are able to shoot at you while they even havent reappaeared yet. So its either nerf blink, or fix lag. I dont think theyll ever (be able to) fix lag, so its blink that needs to get hit by a nerf.
-
Make agility not effect blink or make it to were you can't just ready your weapon a few seconds.
-
2 RepliesHow about you just not become Flippin Invincible from everything when you jump with it?
-
blink once every 5 sec
-
Increase cool down Its the only way
-
5 Repliesby increasing the weapon ready time after blink jumping...and taking away the stupid hunter quickready bullshit.
-
they just need to increase the ready up time for your weapons after a blink, that would be enough to rebalance it.
-
Or make it less offensive and a more defensive way to escape, Say you encounter a rocket, you blink, escape and hope the next rocket doesn't hit you Instead of blinking towards the damn guy with a felwinter sniper
-
1 ReplyYou either have to: -Give it a cool down. -Make weapon accuracy awful after you do it. -Reduce the distance. Or a combination of the above.
