Bungie,
There are over 1 million accounts registered with destinytracker.com. If one looks at the "Both Systems Leaderboards" without selecting "Combine Characters" and with "DTR Score" as the selected leaderboard one finds the following:
Of the top 50 characters, 86% are Hunters, 12% are Warlocks and 2% are Titans
Of the top 500 characters, 65% are Hunters, 22% are Warlocks and 13% are Titans
Of the top 5000 characters, 56% are Hunters, 28% are Warlocks and 16% are Titans
Of the top 50000 characters, 52% are Hunters, 29% are Warlocks and 19% are Titans
Based on these numbers it can be argued that the class imbalance is on a similar level to the exotic hand cannon + shotgun PVP meta imbalance that has persisted for over half a year. Supposedly the meta imbalance will be fixed soon, but the class imbalance has been ignored for far too long. From the numbers above one can conclude that Warlocks are fine, Hunters need a nerf and Titans need a buff. Care to share information on any future rebalancing of the existing classes?
Thanks
-Theo
PS The content paywall you are about to drop on year 1 players who didn't buy TTK ought to be illegal. It isn't much different from Microsoft removing the spell checker from all previous versions of Word...

2 RepliesKill 25 hunters takes a few games. Kill 25 warlocks takes a few more. It can take me all day to kill 25 titans.

They really do. I'm surprised it didn't come with the 2.0 update

2 RepliesPlease don't encourage the balancing of a pve game by pvp metrics. There will always be imbalance small my top players because they are top players. They have found the optimal class for their play style, which is typical a high agility focus build that will allow them to better utilize quick reaction times and both dodge and aim at the same time. These classes also typically average higher pts per second just by the nature of a high speed aggressive play style that means more shot/kill opportunities than other builds. I've personally run a max armor Titan in pvp and I have to say they can be very powerful if used right. They are extremely good in defensive play styles where you can use a combo of good cover and high armor to counter aggressive play styles trying to cross choke points or open ground. There also that hunters are very offensively orientated. Which is another reason many top players choose them. Titans are more defensively orientated with abilities that can be used to stop an attack and then launch a quick counter. Warlocks are built more as a support class, good for both backing up assaults and assuring in defense with grenades and abilities that specialize in blocking or or killing enemies in cover. As such if say these stats more represent player preference trends among top players rather than a true measure of class balance. A DPS will out damage a non DPS. The classes are apples and oranges, the real measure of balance would be to see how well each class proportionally does its job.

2 RepliesWhy make such changes to a game that is centered around pve? Also style of play had alot to do with it. I pay as all the and you can't play a titan as you would a Hunter and vice versa. Besides that, I don't believe that site is accurate
-
4 RepliesWhy do you assume that they are supposed to be balanced? If they all preformed the same than there woukd be no need for different classes at all, titans(defenders specifically) are the unquestionably best pve class, hunters dominant pvp on an individual level but that can be misleading also, I would bet my bottom dollar that a six man team with 3 defender titans and 1 gunslinger 1 bladedancer and 1 warlock would beat a team of six hunters 9 times out of ten. Titans are a support class in crucible, no they can not blink around and kill everything in sight like a bladedancer, but thier role is important as well

8 RepliesEdited by EntrePath: 9/4/2015 11:57:01 PMMaybe just a shift in hp: hunters take less damage to kill than they currently do, and Titans take more damage than they currently so. Meaning a HC that takes 3-5 shots to kill all classes would now take 5-6 to kill a Titan and 2-4 to kill a hunter where as the warlock would stay the same. Edit: k guys, I get it. Horrible idea :0p thx.

2 RepliesLots of skilled players play hunter. Only streamer I am following who plays warlock is war and the only titan is gabriel

2 RepliesEdited by cuzzybubba1: 9/5/2015 11:31:40 PMThe Titan subclass and Warlock coming up both seem PVP focused. While Nightstalker looks great it's more PvE than PVP. - a skilled Hunter

2 RepliesCuz skilled players play hunters Simple as that
-
3 RepliesAs much as i some what agree. I chose hunter as my first charActer bc I figured that it fits my attitude type. I chose it not know what stuff they had. While I agree block is a must for some people I see plenty of hunter running gunslinger such as myself. So even though those percentages are high. It must be taken into account that a good a amount of those are people who generally like the concept of being a hunter

11 Repliesits not hunters fault that we are more competent than the others
-
1 ReplyI think im in the top 5000 for titans. The few the proud
fist of panic
-
2 RepliesI don't see a huge imbalance. And I play all three. Hunters have better supers, but Titans have better grenades. And dat shoulder charge doh.
-
12 RepliesThe problem is, Hunters can be pretty lackluster in endgame PvE. You can't just nerf (or buff) them. You need to carefully rebalance them so that their abilities are more generally useful and not so PvP-focused.
-
1 Reply"Content paywall" Lmao. You are reaching big time with that
-
1 ReplyBlink is your problem. It's too good in its current state. Bladedancer is a very very strong pvp sub class. It was damn near built for it. Titans are just lacking tools and complimentary abilities. You can see how much effort went into making Titans more pvp viable in TTK with the sunbreaker tree.

You're taking weapon imbalances vs class imbalances, look at those gun kills vs ability kills and you'll see a difference.

7 RepliesThere's no need to change anything. The original subclasses are incredibly well balanced, it just so happens that hunter abilities fit PvP better. Plus, a lot of DTR score is based off of time played, so that doesn't show any imbalance in abilities. The new subclasses will probably change those stats a bit, maybe wait and see. Stop trying to fix what isn't broken.

Wow. Is this a post complaining about hunters instead of warlocks? I am shocked
-
GO AWAY CLASSES ARE FINE THIS WAY Stop complaining do all 3 classes and play whay you enjoy the most, gaming is about fun not rankings. So stop it.
-
1 ReplyHow exactly do you plan on nerfing a buffing classes?
-
No need to change anything. I mained a Hunter until I built a Titan and realised how much more fun I was having
-
3 RepliesCorrelation does not imply causation. My first character was a Hunter, the only reason was because of the cloak.
