I'm concerned that it's only 3 days, delayed raid release is for multiple reasons, one of which is so people going for worlds first are on a level playing field and have time to prep, I'm concerned that being only 3 days means we can easily burn through the content to the new level cap like in HoW, I was hoping it would be at least a couple of weeks to a month indicating a bit more longevity in this DLC but unfortunately this doesn't look like the case, first negative sign for me from the new DLC.

It seems like this DLC is focused around being at the level cap. I imagine a lot of the quests and stuff will be high tier stuff that is a high level. Maybe the raid is really hard and gives the highest tier loot, but is meant to be done alongside the quests.

Don't forget about light levels
-
Based on what we have seen that isn't going to be an issue, all 3 characters and vault is stacked with legendary items and engrams, we can break those down for legendary marks with no weekly cap, earn xp, get to 40 buy all high light level gear from tower, won't be the top light level without new exotics etc but definitely be capable of raiding with that gear
-
Current legendaries won't break down into legendary marks, they will still shard into whatever shard they usually do.
-
Source? Pretty sure that's why they said don't shard anything before the first stream the they revealed that legendaries would become legendary marks
-
Hopefully this posts right.
-
Appreciated although it completely contradicts what they said prior to the first stream, probably why they tweeted it after to clear the air, at least this will help extend the DLC lifespan a little. Thanks for clearing that up man

No problem. I was under the influence they meant that for the Infusion process. Sacrificing weapons to improve others. But I'm not 100% certain on that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edited by Anti_Hirro: 9/3/2015 3:32:47 PMI scrolled down the comments and that looks like a no too but obv not confirmed, I'm gunna hang on till launch regardless, I don't need the materials in the mean time, that does restore my faith in the DLC a little bit more though, having to work for the new legendaries as oppose to just straight up buying them on day one will extend the DLC
-
Yeah for sure. I want to actually play this DLC not cheese my way to the top day 1 lol we buy this game to play it after all right? Lol
-
Oh good lord. Why do people overthink everything? There will always be addicts who play non-stop and burn through content to be the first to raid. Withholding it 3 days gives them time to watch system resources and prepare for how much load they should expect for the raid.

Edited by Anti_Hirro: 9/3/2015 2:29:17 PMWouldn't say I'm overthinking things, I am preping ie storing bounties etc was in first 10,000 to beat skolas on opening weekend and that didn't really leave anything to do, was just too easy sorry that I was hoping for more of a challenge, just says to me I'll easy reach the level cap and clear the next raid, I was hoping for more considering the DLC cost twice as much as its predecessors, the original raids were held back so that everyone started at the same time for worlds first, FACT, I am aware that this is not the only reason they hold back but I've formed an informed opinion based on past trends with destiny DLC, hope I'm proven wrong but can't really claim it's being overthought when this has happened multiple times before, just saying I hope this isn't history repeating itself, id like something other than farming to do for the next 6 months

Commas are not an acceptable substitute for periods.

It's a forum, I'm not being graded or paid. If that's legitimately the best you can do then I applaud you sir

Nah man, in your reply you got a bit OCD on all the typical complaints of the masses. Like regurgitating all the same crap most of the forums are filled with. Unfortunately most of the forums only account for 10 to 15 percent of the actual player base. Personally I thought HoW was much better than TDB and TTK is ramped way up from that. They could have held off a month before releasing the next raid but that would just ignite the hate filled vocal minority. Plus sides of TTK: 1. More weaponry. - new foundries and customization makes for a richer environment to experiment in. That and more options on current types like additional sidearms with different burns. 2. New types. - swords finally! 3. Better leveling system. 4. All gear matters. - class item actually means something. Artifacts offer new options. Even the ghost shell makes a difference which is a point within itself. 5. Replay variations of content. - strikes aren't the same anymore. Walk into a room expecting the same 4 pawns, 3 soldiers, 2 gunners, and a major of a given race and find something completely different. 6. The real meat of the expansion doesn't open up till after you have completed the story and leveled up to 40. Bottom line, speculation of the cynical forum masses is getting really toxic. Don't fall into it.

I agree there appears to be a lot of new content compared to before and it looks promising. Like I said for me it the first thing that's made me question the DLC. I'm hoping that it's more of a challenge and I can already see how the games going to be a lot more varied than previously. I just hope we can't rush through the content and have to rinse and repeat. Quest system looks a hell of a lot better though definitely looking forward to seeing how this will improve playability as well as reward acquisition. Believe me I hate the standard "NERF this" "omg why did I pay for this" "I quit" on the forums, it is becoming more widespread than before and I tend to not get involved. It's a lot of self entitled children mainly but idk I just assumed a few weeks would have been reasonable for the raid, as per usual kids cry, bungie announces its only a 3 day wait. I'm not stupid and I know they didn't rush raid release due to any of the complaining. I just hope its going to be more of a challenge, maybe to the point that those same players are complaining it's too hard. I mean we all know the 10-15 would be the first to complain :)

Burning skolas with gallies in the first weekend isn't that great of an accomplishment to write about.
-
Edited by Anti_Hirro: 9/3/2015 3:20:04 PMDidn't claim it was much of an accomplishment just stated I ran out of things to do early on, also Gally eluded me for ever finally had it drop from Poe after skolas, our fire team used dragons breath so ... Edit: I love destiny don't get me wrong, I'm just fed up of getting excited about content just to find it doesn't really last, I'm not the only player like this, when they announced moments of triumph I thought that will give me something to do, logged into app, check triumph status, "congratulations you've become legend" this happened to soooo many people throughout the content, I'll keep playing I enjoy playing with my clan and teaching noobs the raids etc. At the end of the day I'm not a kid, I have work and bills etc so I'm not sat on destiny 24/7 if I can burn through the content then a lot of people can. I hope this dlc lasts longer. I'm just calling it now, give it a week from launch and people will be moaning they've hit the level cap done the raid etc and have nothing to do, it's an inherent trait of this community, everyone has something to moan about. I am concerned this is a indication that the level cap will once again be far too quick to reach, I'm not one of these little kids crying about how they should be entitled to attempt the raid on day one, I would have preferred a couple of weeks minimum, that would have indicated a little more effort was required this time around.
