Does rock star make us pay for new content? Hmmm we all know the answer that. Why cant bungie be more like rockstar ? I know its just wishful thinking. But I'm so stupid I'll keep shelling out money for new content. FML

GTAV is a great game and GTAOnline is fun too, but it's a casual experience I play to talk to my friends or have some fun messing around. Destiny doesn't have the dynamic story telling or hilarity of GTAV, but it doesn't make it bad. Hell I wouldn't ever compare the games. They're completely different.

Bungie no contest

Rockstarr>>>>>

8 RepliesBungie.. Rockstar is cool and all but their only real famous title is GTA.. Both bungie and rockstar actually worked on oni a long time ago... Lol
oh btw, bungie isn't in charge of what content is payed for and what is not. That is all under activion's control. Bungie simply makes the game. :P so yea I'll go with bungie.
Rockstar servers are worse than Bungies. I am booted all the time. Bungies aren't perfect, but they are a little better.
-
Because Activision.

1 ReplyThis is a great topic. No matter what your opinion of either game, they both provide an excellent opportunity to look at completely opposite approaches to extending the life of a game. Destiny charges for everything; Rockstar charges for nothing. AS someone pointed out, Rockstar uses microtransactions, but only for shortcuts. Everything can be earned through gameplay. Clearly each company believes their system works. Essentially, Rockstar gives people a reason to keep the game, since players know they'll get new content periodically for no charge. Bungie and Activision have to convince people to take a chance on content, since they charge for it. Personally, I'd rather have a game that offers free content. You know, the strange thing is, Destiny seems built for microtransactions. Denying people loot for long periods of time is usually what you associate with games that offer shortcuts through a marketplace, like GTA. It's so odd that they don't have any. It's like they're using the worst parts of both models.

Edited by steg567: 9/4/2015 7:38:45 PMTrue rockstar does not make you pay for some new content but the amount of content they deliver is tiny. Also micro transactions, something bungie has stayed away from with destiny.

Rockstar energy drink
-
It's got plenty of other micro transactions in the game that help pay for it.
-
Apparently you haven't played CoD

Bungie ARE rockstars!
-
rockstar doesn't make ppl pay for new content because the micro transactions make enough money for them.

14 RepliesSo a dlc that took 2 years to come out that was crap and long loading screens mixed with lobbies where you get killed every second. Rock star sounds so great.
-
4 RepliesRockstar hasnt even really made anything besides gta and bully yeah Fun fact: bungie and rockstar made oni
-
Unpopular opinion: I've never liked a Rockstar game. :\
-

8 RepliesWasn't Lost and Damned + The Ballad of Gay Tony $20 each?
-
10 RepliesRockstar, sure are dlc is free but have fun saving up 2.2million dollars, but buy this shark card though.
-
Except their dlcs are purely cosmetic 99% of the time
-
You know gta5 was the first game they ever made with free dlc Don't act like they have always done it And not only that... just because one game has free stuff doesn't mean you should therefore except ALL games to do the same
-
12 RepliesGod forbid bungie has you pay for content that costs millions of dollars to develop.
-
10 RepliesThe thing about GTA V's mini DLC's was that they had enough content to entertain for 3 hours and that's it. They always added like 5 suits, 2 cars and a new weapon. Sure it's free, but can you really compare their DLC to Bungie's?
-
1 ReplyGTA 5 was out for a full year be for it got good, loading times can take for ever, But no DLC cost , I guess there is a trade off
