Who's not going to beat Moments of Triumph ? It's because of Skolas isn't it.

FINAL EDIT I DID IT, HUGE THANKS TO "thegreatone147" DONT GIVE UP GUARDIANS. I'm not a huge fan of Prison of Elders, the time investment is too much for mostly crummy rewards. When Moments of Triumph was released I was a bit wary of Skolas but thought I'd give it a go. I'd completed up to and including 34 so I was okay with the mechanics, but I knew the time investment would be large. I made it to Skills in about 2-3 hrs...not bad I don't think. After a couple of hours trying to learn the mechanics and down him (and get a bit lucky) I had had enough. Without checkpoints I've had to walk away, I gave the checkpoint out on the Forum. I have a wife and two kids, I can rarely find 6 hrs to spend playing Destiny. So to those who have killed Skolas (after the burns were removed) well done to you and I salute you. You thoroughly deserve your emblem, hopefully Bungie with do a 'silver' for those of us that missed just one thing. Cannot wait for year two. See you out there Guardians. Edit - Thanks for all the support guys and the offers of help. I have has some advice that makes me think going in as a hunter or a warlock may be a better idea. Who knows I may give it another shot. Edit 2 - extra question, is it possible to clear enough of the ads, before the mines to make the mines a formality or do ads spawn at the same time as mines. Edit 3 - I'm on PS4 thanks for all the help offers.

Taking 2-3 hours just to get to Skolas is a huge problem. Do you run with a regular group? Is anyone experienced? Having at least one truly experienced person can make all the different. You need one person who can stay on top of all the chaos for everyone and make decisions if you have two others who are inexperienced. But yeah, 2-3 hours just to get there is wild. First, everyone needs 365 weapons in every slot. You can get away with less but being new you don't need the extra handicap. sorry for the novel to follow. Any questions just ask: . Round 1 Hive: Go to the left corner, kill enemies. Round 2 Vex Destroy mines: Two people go right, one go left. This is for the dismantle mines phase. Do not jump. At all. Two on the right use the rocks as cover. Same with the one on the left. Use rockets generously. Bubbles as well if you have titans. Destroy mines is pretty easy. Just shoot them from behind cover. or gally if one is far away and no one can get it, like the middle one. Do not jump. Kill enemies the whole time of course. Round 3 Arc Cabal: Scions can wipe you out one shot. Head to the left and kill adds from behind that cover. On the mine round, have someone, preferably a titan if you have two, go to the far side and stand on the roof. You can get the mine from up there if you get close to the edge. Other two are on the bridge. When the round starts, everyone gally everything. Or rockets in general. Just anything that comes out the doors. The titan on the far roof can pop a bubble if he gets in trouble, but his main job is to help keep the bridge mine and middle mine clear for you guys. Bridge guys pop those two mines then head back to the corner. Rinse and repeat for round 3. Round 4 Important Target/Specialist: Shotguns are your friend here, but juggler is not. There are several captains that roam this level. You can take them out with shotty, but you have to use rockets and primary on the smaller adds like shanks and dregs so they drop special ammo. Once you clear round 1, everyone stack on the door where the target comes out. Titan with Saint 14 pops bubble. Target comes out blinded. He is fast so he might roam through your bubble, but if you can trap him a couple shotgun shots from everyone and he is down. Once he is down, get out of the bubble and get back to high platform. That bubble will get overrun with sword captains and vandals jumping into it. Just leave it once the target is down. Then repeat. The target comes out after a couple other enemies in the second round, so wait him out and repeat the process. Then out of the bubble and finish the round Round 5 Bullet Sponge servitor: Just stay in front the door and shoot him with rockets and primary. On occasion from the left and right a sword captain and a regular captain will come at your team. Everyone take them down and repeat. If you have a titan, bubble whenever he has one. If you have two, even better, with gift of the void constant bubbles. But you don't need it. Just keep an eye out for the captains. Skolas: You've probably read enough already. Just bring along an experienced person and you can get it done. If I wasn't helping run my clanmates through I'd offer to help you. Basically, pop servitor, hit skolas, move to the right. Go underneath the right platform since it's not small arms. Watch out for sword captain that comes out the same door every time adds pop. Bubble. Kill adds. Once adds are clear, leave underneath, head back to high platform, find a servitor, pop it. Damage Skolas, bonds should break. If not rinse and repeat til they do. Get back underneath. Someone will have poison but you will all be in the same spot to pass it. Kill all adds. Once done back to the high platform. Since you are new only damage Skolas from the high platform. Mines pop after doing this twice. Stay together and see where the first mine pops. Gally adds. Just get them out your way as much as you can. Wire rifles are the worst as you try to go to mines. Move to all mines together. Titan pops bubble on middle mine. Once all mines are popped get back underneath the right side if you can. Add control again, rinse and repeat til second mines. Same strat. Clear add, down Skolas. This is a slow strat, but very successful with new guys. I have taken two new guys through more than once doing it that way. As long as everyone is competent you can do it and it should not take close to 6 hours. Also to answer your question, adds spawn when mines spawn. Good luck.
