Those 6 levels better take a long time to get. I don't want this house of wolves shit again
.
Edit3: 3 days... 3 -blam!-ing days. You've got to be kidding me.
Edit2: okay everyone I know the grind is getting higher light level. You don't have to keep saying it. I want the actual leveling process to be longer than 1-20.
Edit: the only way to play end for 5 months is if the bosses were dynamic. Now I'm not talking about phases or anything. I'm talking about a fight so dynamic that each time you fight it you need to learn it. Now I know a lot of people would say "well that's too hard for average/casual players" and I say -blam!- them. It's endgame content it isn't for casuals. Yeah I don't know where this rant came from, but I know bungie wouldn't even think of doing this or if they did it would be out of a small pool of phases and all you'd have to do is memorize the 5 or less phases. Bungie make some true endgame content.

I'm sure it'll take less than that

If you play for 12 hours straight, that's your fault. You can probably spread that to 3 days if you do anything else other than play. What you should be more concerned about are the light levels, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's the leveling system that will be based on your gear. It's the leveling that you will truly grind for. Idk how much legendary marks strikes will give, but I doubt you'll get enough to get a really high light level in under 12 hours, considering that you spent some of that time getting to level 40 first.
-
Here's the thing...will probably hit 40 rather quickly. If it's anything like the time to get a mote from a level up it will take around there. I can usually get 2+motes a day from level ups by bounties (eris too) daily story, etc if i put a couple hours in. More on days I do weekly, nightfall, the poes, etc. Now the thing is, you may hit 40, but you're light level is what's gonna make the difference. You can hit 40 with green gear.....you're gonna want to be decked in legendary stuff and an exotic with high light level weapons. I can see people trying to be the 1st to beat Kings Fall with green uncommon gear.
-
You will probably hit 40 before you max out the new subclasses. I'm guessing ~ week per char maybe less with XP bonuses
-
So are they making Poe harder or will it be stuck at 35
-
From the sounds of it hitting lvl 40 won't determine much, everyone is going look at your light level when looking for a group still anyways. So as long as getting the best gear isn't too easy, I think we will be good.
-
You're kidding, right? At 34, you have 6 levels until you can even think about touching any of the endgame, which isn't unlocked until after you complete the story, plus another story, ON TOP OF trying to aquire the right gear for the events in place. I'm actually pissed that bungie ISN'T waiting the one or two weeks to unlock the raid so that players can appropriately level up. Hitting 40 isn't even the start. It's a prerequisite. It's something we need in order to do anything. Don't get your panties in a bunch.
-
I'm sure it won't take too long, you get get 20 levels in like 3 hours of play
-
Or maybe it's actually not that short and you just play the game a little too much. It's all relative. That's the case with me at least.
-
Then you better not be the same person stacking 10 completed bounties, 20 daily public event packages and all that other shit!
-
I bet you are also going to have like 10 bounties in your slot and public event packages ready to level up quick.
-
I honestly won't, because i won't have amazing gear within those 12 hours... so I'll have to grind for gear anyway
-
It's xp based so my guess is you will but you won't have the best gear once you hit level 40
-
It would be their own fault. So they have no right to be pissed
-
I'm just taking my time to finish the story missions. There's no need to rush through everything.
-
Just delete a character, and make a level 1. Should hopefully take about 12 hours to hit 40. On that one.
-
Well 34-35 is 80k XP.
-
I thought we were getting dropped to 25?
-
I will be happy. I don't need to spend weeks grinding towards level 40 to feel my purchase is validated. I have enough shit to do.
-
I think the appeal here is not the journey to 40, but they journey after 40. It is at 40 that we unlock the endgame after all.
-
Yea I want the leveling to be a long grind, without having to constantly repeat the same activities.
-
I'd be pissed if it took longer than 2 hours
-
I remember 17-20 taking pretty long compared to everything before it. I'm assuming 34-40 will take longer yet. For example, I doubt a full set of bounties will be enough to level even once.
-
I doubt it will take long but there still seems to be plrnty to do and I have three charecters to do it all across, plus leveling subclasses soooo
