I was wondering what the DoDs opinion of the Taken King is? Me personally I have a mixed opinion of all 4. It feels like I bought an expensive beta/demo with everything that they are adding( additional story, another character specialization!!! for a slot that was already there, and not another species of enemies). It does look badass though. It would be badass to wield that hammer like mighty Thor himself on those nooby, crucible bastards. But for $40, gtfo!! But what say you? Vote for what you think and leave a comment.

5 RepliesI honestly feel it's worth it. I've never had a game I've played this long before I've played everyday since launch that's full year which is crazy it has keep me from buying other games and remember the last two dlcs combined cost 40 and the taken king is giving us more content then them combined. New patrol area New subclass New gun class. New endgame activity and much more we haven't found out yet it's a 20gb down load which is bigger than my Dragon age inquisition which is a full game. I dunno what not to love we get New PvP modes. New raid. New race of baddies. Just so much going for it

It seems like your question is geared towards the game as a whole rather than the expansion. The game itself has been very polarizing and difficult to rate. Like many reviewers have said when Destiny first entered the market - it's difficult to rate a game that has a 10yr vision. I have played many well crafted games with emotion provoking story lines and well crafted mechanics (ie Uncharted, The Last of Us, Bioshock, Halo, etc...). Destiny itself is a new genre in its own, with a fabled tale being gradually unfolded before us. For us to really understand the complexities of this game, and rate it for what it is, we shouldn't dispense judgement until it is completed. For me, this game is very linear when I played alone, but was made exponentially fun and exciting because of DoD; and that's the niche that Bungie has so carefully built the game on - it's community. I like to compare Destiny to Bourbon: when it is first distilled it's not a good a liquor, but when you allow it to age, it may very well become a masterpiece.
