I don't mind the wait because it gives them more time to perfect the raid, but why did they decide to delay it?

So we can level up first maybe???

Edited by Kibeth: 9/2/2015 3:31:06 PMIt's most likely so that they can hype the raid's launch night with a whole bunch of groups aiming for world's 1st. If it was available on the 15th, it would be less of a race in skill and more of a race in "Who can prep the most instant exp before TTK launches". A small delay helps balance the race and build the hype.

Because they do it with every raid?
-
5 RepliesSO YOU CAN PREPARE TO RUN IT DUMBASS THATS THE ONLY REASON WHAT, ARE YOU AND YOUR VASTLE UNDERPOWERED WEAPONS GONNA SHIOT THROUGH THE RAID AT LEVEL 34?!?! NO. NOW HOLY SHIT CAN EVERYONE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE TRAVELER SHUT THE EVER LIVING HELL UP
-
Artificial extension of playtime. Can't risk people running through $10 worth of content too quickly and figuring out they just wasted money. Again.
-
Give ppl time to lvl up and schedule days off from work. Is this really a mystery?
-
1 ReplyIts to give us time to level up to 40 and to have an official start to the raid competition. It is what happened with VOG.
-
It will come out on the 22nd. A week behind TTK. VoG came out 1 week after the game launched. It will give everyone a chance to get ready for it.
-
All of the other raids where delayed in some way.
-
Does it matter? It's to make sure you take your time with the game, and not rush through it.
-
Too many bugs
-
Preparation???
-
It's not delayed. You could play it right now if it were possible. But that's just it come day one you wouldn't be able to. Some people will be prepared to level quite quickly but some wont. They want to give people time so most people will have a shot to complete it when the starting shot is fired. It is an event as is the game release. This is why every expansion should have one.. PoE was bad. There already was a mode like this called strikes.
-
They delayed VoG... And hard crota.... To give you time to prepare....
-
Technically not delayed since I don't remember them ever saying it would be available day 1. As for why? Probably to allow people to enjoy the game and not go speeding through everything. It's definitely the better way to go in my opinion
-
So we don't skip past all of the new loot they put in
-
3 RepliesYou have 2 norm VoG clears and 0 Crota, so whats the rush? Have fun doing them while waiting.
-
There is a little thing called research. You should try it sometime
-
It's the same as with the vault. It's so players have a chance to level their characters and get accustomed to the new subclasses. that way they're prepared for the new raid and have a larger selection of people to assist them in beating the raid.

2 Repliesso the casuals don't feel left out
-
1 ReplySo people don't rush through the content and then bitch about there not being any for 3 months.
-
1 ReplyYou prolly need to be level 40 to stand a chance... so they're just delaying it. ORRR.... They're planning on -blam!- our pockets once more and are gonna charge us a 5th time to play this game...
-
2 RepliesThere are a few. 1. Because players wont reach 40 in a few days. (Bungie's reason) 2. Raids have always been released later in order to gauge the audience. 3. To prolong the content so people play longer. 4. To prevent professional reviews from releasing their opinions until after TTK has been launched when all content is available rather than day one. (This means more sales because people will try it for themselves. Destiny received many 5/6 ratings only after VoG was released.) 5. For beta testing. Raids come out in normal mode first then hard so players can beta test for Bungie and they can patch and make changes. (This is both good and bad. It is underhanded yet at the same time helpful if something was overlooked or needed a fix.)

2 RepliesI have my own theory that I haven't seen anyone else in the community comment on. weapon tuning 2.0 is bringing a lot of changes and they have no idea how the player base will react to it and what they'll take advantage of. they're waiting to see how that pans out so they can make the appropriate changes to the raid to ensure its a challenge
