Let me get this straight
I was told that Weekly Nightfall Strikes is a good way to get my hands on better weapons. So I give it a try and this is what I discovered. I have a Legendary Pulse Rifle - the 55A-55A-ALLFATE as my primary weapon. As I was fighting my way to the destination point I was constantly encountering enemies that I could not kill with my primary weapon. Meanwhile, despite the fact that I am wearing full set of Legendary Armor with a Light rating of 32, the enemies keep killing me in one shot thus making it impossible for me to complete the mission. How the hell am I supposed to play Weekly Nightfall Strikes when I don't even have a fight chance. Am I supposed to wait around for my special to charge and kill the enemies three at a time every ten minutes? This is insane. Why is my Legendary Weapon not doing enough damage? I don't get it!!!!!!!

Me and 2 friends destroyed him with 2 Gjallarhorns and an uppercut payload in like 5 mins. Must have the arc and solar burn weapons or your in trouble.

You have to build your battle plan around the modifiers. I love nightfalls for the added challenge and being forced to change my battle plan and/or my weapon set. Depending on the modifiers, the nightfall can be a total walkthrough, or a total grind. Part of this week's modifiers are arc burn and solar burn. Considering Cabal primarily do solar, and the psions have a short range arc attack, you can get dropped quite easily in this week's strike. But that's why you equip yourself with arc and solar weapons, to drop them just as fast. I'd gladly help you if you were on PS4, but I see you're on Xbox, so go check out the recruitment page for some folks down to help.

2 RepliesYou need a weapon with a burn. The allfate doesn't have one. That's also why you die so easily. Almost all heavy and secondary weapons have burns. So chose wisely. The best way to get a legendary primary with a burn is to do the raids. Trials of Osiris is another way but it's more difficult.

You need a team of 3 to began with. The Nightfall right now has arc and solar burn, so those kinds of weapons will kill them quicker. It takes awhile to get through it as you will have to take your time killing enemies and taking cover. Snipers with those kinds of damage or good for hanging back and killing enemies. Rocket launchers with that kind of damage to, make sure to take plenty of Heavy Weapons Synthesis. Time is your friend on Nightfall, you will not want to rush. Find other players though, that's a must.

Edited by A Rising Wind: 9/1/2015 8:19:10 PMAttempting a nightfall without a burn primary, let alone a unleveled kinetic, is asking for trouble. Among other modifiers, this weeks burns (arc and solar) mean just what it says, weapons of that type do a ton more damage. Both damage you give and damage you receive. Damage from cabal solar weapons is increased as a result. So they will wreck you much faster than a Lvl 32 heroic of the same strike w/o burns. That said, if you have good solar weapons, you can wreck them too :) I would not recommend trying to solo a NF without a full compliment of burn weapons (primary/special/heavy) and good knowledge of strike spawn points.
