Who's not going to beat Moments of Triumph ? It's because of Skolas isn't it.

I'm not a huge fan of Prison of Elders, the time investment is too much for mostly crummy rewards.
When Moments of Triumph was released I was a bit wary of Skolas but thought I'd give it a go. I'd completed up to and including 34 so I was okay with the mechanics, but I knew the time investment would be large.
I made it to Skills in about 2-3 hrs...not bad I don't think. After a couple of hours trying to learn the mechanics and down him (and get a bit lucky) I had had enough.
Without checkpoints I've had to walk away, I gave the checkpoint out on the Forum. I have a wife and two kids, I can rarely find 6 hrs to spend playing Destiny.
So to those who have killed Skolas (after the burns were removed) well done to you and I salute you. You thoroughly deserve your emblem, hopefully Bungie with do a 'silver' for those of us that missed just one thing.
Cannot wait for year two.

Edit - Thanks for all the support guys and the offers of help. I have has some advice that makes me think going in as a hunter or a warlock may be a better idea. Who knows I may give it another shot.
Edit 2 - extra question, is it possible to clear enough of the ads, before the mines to make the mines a formality or do ads spawn at the same time as mines.
Edit 3 - I'm on PS4 thanks for all the help offers.

1 ReplyCatapult & Angry are probably the easiest two mods for Skolas. This is best chance for anyone to get that Triumph. I suggest going to the Destiny Sherpa Reddit and find people to carry you through. I myself will probably be carrying some folks through it this weekend, but you'll have to find me on the DTG Reddit for when.

1 ReplyYou're absolutely right, three efforts of between five and seven hours.... Sooo close every time. One morning I booted up and checked out the forum, joined two at Skolas and finished in one attempt. The moral is , don't give up! There are many instances of folk asking for help at the final hurdle, people just run out of time and have to leave. Look out for these places if you really need to get it done, just make sure you've learned the mechanics so as not to let them down, they've probably been at it for hours!

1 ReplyCan't see me finishing moments of triumph at this point. I could finish the gold chests but I won't be able to finish vog, crota and skolas as I don't have a raid group plus Ive heard skolas Is pretty tough and with my gear I doubt I'd be much help to fireteam.

2 RepliesI tried Skolas for the first time last night. We made it through everything without failing any of the rounds. We killed Skolas too on the first try and I got the grimiore card, but we missed dismantling one mine and we failed, even after it said modifiers cleared and success guardians.
